One of a series of picture books in pocket-size editions. In this story with a rhyming text, a group of children prepare for a party. Each performs his or her own task perfectly – except for Jim, who just can’t keep his hands out of the jam pot.

The repetitiveness makes this a great read aloud. Children love joining in and matching up the words to the action in the illustrations.

Wayne is my favourite because he escapes his pram.
I like all rhymes and I can read it all by myself now.
At the end of the story everybody is saying ‘pass the jam Jim, jam Jim jam’ but Jim has already eaten all the jam.
