This was a big book for me to read but I really like it, there was lots of description and was at times sad, the main character was Arthur an orphan.

I loved the characters in this book, especially how we were able to follow them over time. I enjoyed that the story was in two very different parts. I would definitely recommend it to someone else.

I couldn't stop reading this book. It was an amazing book full of sad and happy moments. I really liked how one half of it was written from one character's point of view and the other half was from another character's point of view. I enjoyed reading the emails Allie sent because it showed what she would have been feeling and what it would be like to be receiving the emails. I thought this book was brilliant!

It was an extremely moving book. Although there were many sad parts every time after something bad happened a good thing would lift you up. In short, it gave a roller coaster of emotions.

I thought it was brilliant! I would definitely recommend it to older children. My favourite character from that book is Allie the teenage daughter.

I found this book interesting because it showed me how people lived a long time ago. It also showed it in the view of someone being an actual refugee

A kid called Arthur was orphaned during WII, he was sent to the over side of the world. Very good book.

This book is very engaging and emotional book. It describes the life of Arthur Hobhouse and how he travelled around the world to find his long-lost sister Kitty. He relives his childhood memories from the moment he climbed onto the three red-funnelled ship to the time when he became inevitably sick.Allie, his daughter, is determined to find her father's lost sister by sailing on the "Wide Wide Sea" in the boat her father made'Kitty 4'With help from her family, live broadcasting and a little from outer space, will the family bond finally unite?

This is an engrossing book, and I would recommend it to those of you who like reading books with a twist in the plot and that are like a fictional autobiography.I loved the plot.

As a reader, you'll be drawn in by the mystery surrounding the novel, and you'll want to discover
more about Arthur's sister, Kitty, and the "lucky key" she gave him before they were separated.
What exactly did that mean, and where has she been since then? This, I feel, illustrates the
fundamental subject of the plot: love. Arthur needs love to get through his painfully terrible life,
and he is rewarded with love at the end of the book.
What I enjoyed most about this novel was how it caught so much genuine emotion, making me
want to experience Arthur and Allie's life alongside them. Overall, I would really recommend this
book for it is written really effectively and conveys emotion in a powerful way throughout.

I liked Archie the best because he was an orfan and was sent to Australia but had to suffer his best friends and carer dying and was put in a lot of tough decisions but he stayed strong. He also had a sister which he had a key of to open a music box but Archie didn’t remember any of this. He only thought he had a sister because he had a key. Archie got drunk one day after his brother like friend died and he was found and taken to a hospital in Tasmania. He was very depressed but a few months later married a nurse there who half his age and had 1 child.
I would recommend this book to 10 years and above

It really interested me when the story moved on to allies personal life and story and I thought the person she was in general was very comical. I loved the emails on her journey and the coordinates accompanying the time and the date of the day. I loved Arthur’s Greek wife ,Zena, I think she’s called and her dancing and Marty on the boat ride to Australia and I did not like Piggy Bacon at all. I would recommend it to Michael Morpurgo fans
