It is 1976 and England is suffocating. Jess and Tom live on a remote farm in the English countryside with their increasingly difficult and brutal father, Henry. Their mother, Sylvie, walked out years before and Jess is struggling with the role of mother figure to Tom, as well as skivvy and hired hand for her father.

Really enjoyed it, liking the way it started, heavy like the weather. Got caught up with the story and made them feel anxious about the story.
Transported them to where it's set. Felt like they were there, it was slow but they weren't sure if that was set that way like the heat. Wishing that there was another book to see what happens to her.
Overall a good book 4/5
