Probably my favourite Michael murpurgo book. I love the deep explanations of emotions, the strangeness of the island with the orangutan and then the developing relationship between the two characters.
This was really good. Kensuke was my favourite character.
I loved this book because Michael was so resilient in the face of adversity. Kensuke was just trying to save him even though Michael didn't know it at first. You would like this book if you like sailing, gibbons and orangutans, painting on shells and stories with happy endings.
It`s a super book because it`s about a boy called Michael that fell off a boat on an island but someone called Kensuke that will help him survive.
Kensuke's Kingdom is about a 12 year old boy travelling the world with his parents when he suddenly falls into the ocean. He gets washed up on a small island belonging to an old man called Kensuke and his orangutans. He eventually becomes friends with Kensuke and meets his family again. I really enjoyed this book. I recommend it for 9-12 year olds.
I loved the book and also read it with our class and decided to read it again. its a sad story of kensuke and I felt sad for him because he was old lonely a bit grumpy with humans read it to understand it and it was sad because he had no company when Michael left . also written by Michael Morpurgo author of war horse
I like when Micheal is reunited with his parents its really heart warming
I loved this book. My favourite part was when Kensuke tells Michael off for building a fire, he shouts danger.
It was abut scary but I liked it lots too. I like the bit when the orang-utans went to Kensuke whenever he sang. The bit when the jellyfish stung Micheal was a bit exiting but also a bit scary.
It's a great book
A moving book of friendship, the devastating effects from the war and the impact we have on our environment. A brilliant book with an emotional ending! As usual, Michael Morpurgo brings the true feeling of the characters through and really uses deep feelings well.
This was a fantastic read. It is a story of action, adventure, survival and friendship. Kensuke is a fascinating character in that he is living entirely on his own on the island until Michael's arrival. Discovering how Kensuke has adapted to life on the island and why he is there is revealed throughout the book. This book will appeal to all readers over the age of 9. There are references to World War 2 which are also interesting and relate to real life events.
I didn’t like this book as it scared me
This is a really exciting story. I like the character of Kensuke, he seems very caring and kind.
The book is about a boy separated from his family when a boat they were travelling around the world in capsized in a storm. He was gone for about 12 years. He was found by Kensuke who looked after him and the story is about their relationship. Kensuke had also lost his family in WW2. Eventually Michaal, the boy found his family and spent time getting to know them again. Kensuke stayed on his island. Later in like Michael found Kensuke's son.
I liked the book, it is written well and i would recommend it but it is not my type of book because i prefer books that make me laugh and this is quite serious.
This was a fictional story about a boy who got washed ashore after falling of his boat. It did have a happy ending though
I would recommend it
I thought Kensuke's Kingdom was a very good book. I like Kensuke and Stella, the dog, the best. Kensuke was interesting and different to the people I come across. He was an old man from Nagasaki in Japan. I learned about the bomb that was dropped on Nagasaki.
I'd recommend this to people who like sailing and survival skills. There is also plenty of wildlife.
it was one of my favourites so far because it was smooth and was easy to under stand and read
super book!
Great adventure
I like this book because it is adventurous and it has good description words.
Great book with a great moral. I recommend it!
A truly gripping, engaging story of description beyond most.
Greatest book ever written!!
(In my opinion)
I'd rate it 9999999999/10!!

its all about a boy called Michel and his family.they sell everything and his dad buys a boat called the Peggy sue. they go half way around the world until the night mare happens. Michel falls over board and by the morning he is ship wrecked on an island.later on he meets this person who is kensuke. They are enemy's for a while but later on Michel gets off the island. i think its a realy good and i would age it at 9 year olds.
Exciting!!!
i think that you should read this book because it is a very interesting and adventurous book which will leave you sitting on the edge of your seat because of the shocking cliff hangers
I think that Kensuke's Kingdom is a touching, most heart warming story about a boy called Michael and his dog Stella (named after the beer Stella Atrois). In the beginning of the story, Michael keeps a journal whilst he on his boat Peggy Sue. But one day a tidal wave hits Peggy Sue and washes up on a island. One of the only other human beings on the island was called Kensuke. He then explains that this is his island called Kensuke's Kingdom. At the end Peggy Sue is finaly repaired so Michael and his family can finally leave.
My first memorable Michael Morpurgo book! Touching (I was the only one who didn't cry) and perfect.
