An absolutely wonderful book. Such an easy, gentle writing style, great story, fully developed characters and a really interesting history of Korea told through the story of the Haenyeo, the women who freedive for sea food on the Korean island of Jeju. There are some harrowing scenes but all handled with immense sensitivity and compassion. A real pleasure to read. Highly recommended.
