This book started out really engaging and something totally different - written in several different viewpoints. The spirit of Dead Pappa Toothwort picks up snippets of conversations. It is beautifully scribed and funny, strange , moving but then it switches somewhat section 2 and then by the end I just wanted the same style of prose from part 1...Unsual and I did start and have a break and then pick up so perhaps that affected my whole story/book experience.
Absolutely loved this joyously different, poetic merge of middle England, myth and rural stereotypes through the delightfully unselfconscious Lanny, a child who invokes love, liking and unintentional pain in the people around him. It's beautifully written and was a pleasure to read
