Danny the Champion of the World by Roald Dahl is the much-loved tale of how Danny and his father outwitted the mean Mr Victor Hazell.
Danny thinks his dad is the most marvellous and exciting father a boy could wish for. Life is happy and peaceful in their gipsy caravan, until one day Danny discovers his dad has been breaking the law. What’s more, soon Danny has to join his father as they attempt to pull off a daring and devilish plot against horrible, red-faced Mr Victor Hazell . . .
""A true genius . . . Roald Dahl is my hero"" David Walliams
Roald Dahl, the best-loved of children’s writers, was born in Wales of Norwegian parents. After school in England he went to work for Shell in Africa. He began to write after ""a monumental bash on the head"", sustained as an RAF pilot in World War II. Roald Dahl died in 1990.
Quentin Blake is one of the best-known and best-loved children’s illustrators and it’s impossible now to think of Roald Dahl’s writings without imagining Quentin Blake’s illustrations.

I really liked this book because I really liked Danny the little boy who stopped Mr Hazel from having a grand shooting party. It is a fiction book and I liked the part where all the pheasants were falling to the ground after being drugged with sleeping pills. I would recommend this book to other people.

This book was about a boy named Danny who lived with his dad in a old dusty wagon that horses used to carry beside his dad's work, a garage where he worked with cars. My favourite part was when one night he couldn't here his dad sleeping on top of his bunk he just assumed he was working at the garage lat at night until he checked and Know one was there. He waited for another 8 hours and know one came so he decided to drive a car all the way to a place called Hazell's wood where his dad had been recently when he arrived he found his dad in a steep hole so he used the hook attached to the car and attached it to a tree and pulled him out of there. His dad said he had been trapped by people in Hazell's wood and had been injured badly.
I loved it.
I think this is an outstanding book that I enjoyed very much.
I like Danny's Dad the most since his personality is very good and I like the part where he had to give up his secret which was poaching.

This book is exiting with a very tricky plans and plots ! It really keeps you thinking what is going to happen next I recommend to readers who like adventure and nerve racking experiences
it was a good book danny becomes a poaching genius!
It was a wonderful book to read! To me, it felt so surprising about a lovely dad who always keeps a promise and never hides secrets but Danny discovers a secret from his Dad that he never heard. His dad goes poaching! This was a fiction book and I liked the character Danny because he learned how to make cars at the age of 5-6. He also made up an idea of his own to poach 200 pheasants in one day, even when they are roosting. I would highly recommend this book to anyone.

Danny is my favourite character because he is comes up with good ideas to round the pheasants and put them to sleep with raisins. He is smart and super intelligent because he used rope to pull his dad out of a square pit.
I will definitely recommend my friends to read this book
