Bedtime for Monsters is Ed Vere’s hilarious monsterish tale – with a big twist!
What if a monster were looking for a bedtime snack? And what if that snack just happened to be you? GULP! He’s getting closer and closer . . . and his tummy is rumbling REALLY loudly. You’d be very scared! BUT all this monster actually wants is a lovely monster-sized goodnight kiss. Night, night!
Ed Vere is also the author and illustrator of Mr Big, the story about the big Gorilla with the big heart and The Getaway. Banana, his book for preschoolers, is the perfect book about manners but only has two words – ‘yes please’ of course!
Ed Vere studied fine art at Camberwell College of Art and has been writing and illustrating children’s books since 1999. He is published in both England and the US. Ed is also a painter, working from his studio in East London and is represented by galleries in London and Los Angeles. After a year and a half living in Barcelona, Ed now lives and works in London.
Look out for the new animation of Fingers McGraw… coming soon!

He was really silly at the end!
I was a little scared at first but then it was funny!
It was very silly because the monster was stomping up the stairs to give a kiss and I thought he was going to eat the person in bed
Good to read at bedtime
Great read!
Love it
I liked this book because it seems like the monster wants to eat me, but in the end he just wants to give me a sloppy kiss.
This was a light hearted fun story all about Monsters. Just when they author makes you think that Monsters want to eat you, it takes a funny twist at the end. I really liked how the author used lots of adjectives such as scritch scratch and gloop schloop. The pictures in the story are colourful and eye catching when reading. I would recommend this story to anyone who thinks monsters are scary because the secret is they are not.
Very funny and my dog even likes it.
I didnt really like this book much. It was babyish
I like the monster riding the bike in the forest. This is a good sharing book.
It was funny
Best book ever !
I loved this book
I would recommend to a friend as a bedtime story
It was funny in the end as the monster didn't really want to hurt or scare you. But I won't spoil the ending for others yet to read it.
Really enjoyed it
At the end he doesn't eat the child, he kisses them goodnight!
It is very interesting and if you were thinking you might be eaten by a monster, maybe you'll not be eaten because the monster in the story did not eat the 3 children.
Good
I love the book, because I sleep with toys
I guessed this book would be terrifying. I didn't like the story I found it scary. Don't like monsters.
