It is an amazing story about friendship. Would recommend to another person
This book is great and I would definitely recommend it to others. I love how Polly Ho-Yen writes her stories and her style. It feels like you know the characters in the story really well and their personality's.
10 plus
I loved The Boy in the Tower so was really looking forward to reading this . . . and it didn't disappoint. One morning, Ana wakes up and finds that she's the only one who has. Well, nearly the only one. Also awake is her ex-best friend Tio. Between them they explore a sleeping London. Why is everyone asleep? Is there a way they can wake people up? And what's the 'thing' that seems to be following them? Putting together a series of clues, Clem and Tio learn to put their differences aside and work together to solve the mystery.
I enjoyed the writing and I enjoyed the characters of Ana, Tio and Layla and their relationships…though the repeated message of having a go and trying what makes you happy, regardless of what others think is a bit heavy-handed. I even liked the character of Rollo the monoctohog but found the intermittent case notes, especially the last one, quite annoying. I think I preferred her earlier book, The Boy in the Tower…
awsome
Ana and Tio are cute
It was (at some points )intense and at others existing. I would recommend it to anyone who likes to be nervous about what is going to happen because some things are like that.
It was great!!!!
I thought this book was extremely good because 2 enemies are forced to work together.
Ana's friend Layla had also helped out in the mystery. But it gets better Ana's auntie Dolores A.K.A Dodo has to take something to a secret society. Layla,Ana and Tio attempt to find Dodo before it is too late.
It is the most intriguing book I have ever read!
All of her books are slightly sci-fi which is not my usual genre. However, as with her other books, I really enjoyed it. Ana and Tio used to be best friends and when they wake up one day, to a silent world, they find they are the only humans awake. They have to put their differences aside to try and work out what is going on. Aimed at 9+
