Fascinating peek into the world of a dysfunctional family. The threads of Hope and love woven through the book move you from tears of laughter to tears of sadness. The story is such an accurate reflection of real life a gripping read.
I wish I could take Frankie home and show her what life could be like.

There is a lot of sadness to this story, but it still made me smile on almost every page and even laugh out loud on occasion. The author has a beautiful way with words and a lovely way of describing small details that makes the characters and their world come to life.
The way the story is told bit by bit and in flashbacks kept me captivated throughout, and kept surprising me until the end. And Frankie is the most charming protagonist, with a wonderfully individual world view.
I highly recommend this lovely novel.

I found this book well written but it left me wanting more at the end. I liked the way the story went from present to past. The story gave a good in sight into how some people live and seemed a true reflection. I wanted Frankie to find out what really happened to her mum so that she could get some closure. Perhaps a follow up. A sad book.
