I really enjoyed turning detective and how MG Leonard explained motives and alibis!
It wasn’t my style of book that I would like to read.
It’s an interesting crime book.
A thrilling adventure of mystery and trickery. I would reccomend to an age range of 8-14.
Really enjoyed this book. A good mystery novel which has you guessing and pondering all the way through .
I think this is a brilliant book and i think it is an amazing thriller
This was a amazing mystery book. I loved it. Even though we solved the case the book made me rethink our answer and I couldn't wait to listen to the next one!
My favorite character in the book is Harrison Beck because he saves Lenny's dad from losing his job. I recommend this book to anyone who likes mysteries. It is one of the best books I have ever read!
Brilliant Book
Because it was just detective work and I like mystery
A great read that had all the ingredients for a thrilling mystery story - the fact it was set on a train really added to the atmosphere of the adventure.
I liked the highland falcon because it was never boring there was all wais something going on and my favourite character was the dog that Hal then took home
I loved the book
I loved this story about Hal who finds a mysterious stowaway on the train and they try to solve the mystery of the missing jewellery on board. I loved it!
Brilliant book
This book is a classic whodunit mystery on a train but told through the detective skills of a child. The Author mixes a love of mystery and trains. It is an interesting story and does keep you interested.
The story follows Harrison Beck- Hal- who reluctantly goes on the final journey of the highland Falcon- a antique train that is being put into a museum. He is accompanied by his Uncle Nat who is a train journalist. The royal prince and princess as well as multiple members of high society join them but when some pricey jewellery goes missing a thief is on board the highland falcon.
I would recommend this this for children over 9 who have a love of mystery or trains or even better both.
Fiction book. Main characters were Marlene Singh, Uncle Nathaniel Bradshaw and Harrison Beck. They are my favourite characters. This book is about three thefts on a train, the Highland Falcon. This book is very adventurous. I like how Harrison beck saves the day and the illustrations.
Nice
Fantastic
exciting
Very adventurous, mysterious and funny book! I love it!!
i loved the suspense, trying to figure out who the thief is.
We met the author at Cast and learnt about his books.
I haven’t quite finished it yet but it’s very exciting and I love that it’s set on a real train.
After originally listening to this book a few months ago with my boys, I leaped at the chance to meet M G Leonard and we all greatly enjoyed her talk as well as helping to plot a murder mystery with her! I then spent the summer reading the rest of the series so far (the 6th arrives in the next few days) to my boys each night.
The books are mysteries and we loved discussing and predicting at the end of each chapter. Hal was the boys favourite character and they now love to draw sketches like him. I had a soft spot for Uncle Nat, his love of trains and travel and his quirky habit of wearing 6 watches.
A really exciting young adventure book!
Hal is a great character.
A great book to read aloud super vocabulary and lots to talk about - a new baby, going on an adventure without Mum and Dad.
I would recommend this book to read aloud to younger children and for older children to read and re-read my daughter is on a third read of this now. There are other books in the series too.
Fun, easy read with detective theme aboard a train with lovely illustrations.
another brilliant book by M.G .Leonard and Sam Sedgman. I absolutely loved it
Lots of excitement, adventure and mystery!
It was a fun mystery on a train. I am looking forward to reading the sequel.
I liked that Harrison did a big speech at the end to say who the thief was. I also like that he had a friend to help him solve the case. The best part is when the Princess comes and her necklace breaks and they realise that it has been stolen.
My favourite character is Hal. It was such a good book. The author uses brilliant words to describe what is happening. So good I can see it in my head. It’s a mystery book. You spend all your time wondering who did the crime!
