Enjoyed it thoroughly
Strangeworlds is a book about a 12 year old girl named Flick who realises she has got special powers.
Loved it
Loved this book
I LOVE this book. It's so interesting and full of mystery! 6ou never know which suitcase leads to which world. Really good book, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this!
I like how Flick was a normal character and that the book was trying to say that magic is out there and this could happen to anyone. Flick was my favourite character as she didn't lie and I liked Nick the thief because she was so friendly and nice. I would recommend this book.
I thought that this book was really good, I rate it 5/5. I thought that it was such an interesting book that pulled me in straight away. It was fascinating to see the development of Flick and Jonathan’s relationship. I would definitely recommend!!
Loved this book, can’t wait to read the rest of the series and find out more about Flick. A very intriguing character who we need to know more about. Anyone who enjoys Dr Who or fantasy will love this book too.
This was possibly the best book I've ever read in my entire life! If your reading this comment, then you absolutely have to read this book! There's a second one two called the strangeworld's travel agency the edge of the ocean and there's a third one coming out in April 2022.
I loved this story! The idea of climbing into a suitcase in one world and then climbing out in another! Highly recommend this book and getting lost in the multiverse.
I really enjoyed this book. It was very imaginative. My favourite part was all the magic!
This book is about a girl called Flick Hudson who one day walks into a travel agency only to find out it is run by magic. The head custodian Jonathan becomes very fond of her and tells her about the tragic story of how he lost his father. One day when she was exploring a new world she fond a journal. Will this be the way to find his dad ?
I really enjoyed the original and interesting concept of having a trip to another world through something as mundane as a suitcase! The developing friendship between the two main characters added an extra dimension to an already excellent story and I can't wait to tread other books in the series.
It was an exciting adventure showing the building of a friendship and different, fun worlds.
My favourite character was Flick as she was adventurous and polite, but she always stood her ground.
I'd recommend it to someone who loves adventure and mystery stories.
This was a much more mature read than I was expecting. Despite a relatively simple concept (suitcases act as portals to other worlds) I think the story is probably likely to appeal more to secondary aged pupils than middle grade. I enjoyed it but felt it could have been shorter.
A great idea. Enjoyable. All the characters were nice. A lovely book to read.
This book was fantastic! I liked it so much that I finished it in a couple of days. My favourite character was Flick because she was willing to give up her life for the travel agency. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that likes books about adventures and magic.
fun and exiting
I loved this magical adventure! I’m not sure who was my favourite character, possibly Jonathon as he has a little mystery to his family history and he knows so much about the agency.
Travelling between worlds and the magical language was fantastic. I could visualise every element of the story.
I would recommend this to all ks2 children
I thought this was a great read, and my favourite character was Fliss, who discovered the Strangeworlds Travel Agency by accident!
Full of wonder, magic and adventure, 'The Strangeworlds Travel Agency' is without a doubt one of the best books I've read all year! Flick, the book's protagonist, has you rooting for her from the very beginning. L.D Lapinski depicts the other worlds beautifully so it's easy to share in Flick's wonder and amazement. The descriptions of the other worlds will make you want to hang around and savour them but the fast-paced plot makes it difficult not to race to the end. Highly recommended for ages 9+.
A really fun read! Love the idea of travelling to different worlds via suitcases, especially when each world is totally unique.
This is the story of Flick who stumbles across The StrangeworldsTravel Agency. She quickly discovers this is no ordinary travel agents. Using suitcases as portals she travels between magical universes.
I would recommend this to upper key stage pupils who enjoy magical adventures - particularly Harry Potter fans who are looking for the next read.
An amazing book but a slow start to action means I can only give it 3 stars. Good for people who like villains, adventure, magic and the odd suitcase!
A wonderful journey into a plethora of magical lands. I couldn’t put it down!
Harry Potter fans will adore this magical adventure; I certainly did! Set to be the first book in a new
series, I’m glad I’ve discovered it right at the start. I can see this quirky, twisting tale being made into a blockbuster film. Loved it!
Another book that I absolutely loved and would recommend to children 8+. The joy here is the variety of imaginary worlds that our heroes visit. For this reason it would be a great book to use to stimulate children's writing.
LD Lapinski has created a host of characters from gentle unassuming loners to fiesty lovable thieves and villains reminiscent of the childcatcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Please, please let there be a sequel.
I absolutely loved the idea of being to travel to another world by stepping into a suitcase. I will never look at suitcases the same way again.
There is so much possibility here for future stories and so many adventures. I am really keen to read the next book.
It takes you on an adventure which you can only go on by going through suitcases.
What an absolute privilege it has been to jump into those wondrous suitcases and explore the multiverse with a Flick and Jonathan! A brilliant book cram packed full of imagination, magic and adventure!
