The ninth in a smash hit series of hilarious tales about primary school life from best-selling, award-winning creators! Packed with excellent black and white illustrations, this is the perfect longer read for newly confident readers.
Nothing is quite as it seems for Izzy and her friends, and the drama is always off the scale!
Izzy LOVES all the stories the Ancient Greeks told! She can’t wait to tell her friends about Icarus, who was a TOTAL NUMPTY, and the Trojan Horse, which ended a war and wasn’t even REAL!
So pull up a plinth and enjoy all the DRAMA of the original Greek myths, as told by Pamela Butchart and Thomas Flintham, in collaboration with the British Museum. Now with even more SANDALS!

I laughed and laughed! I am a huge fan of Greek myths and know the story of Icarus well so was pleased to find him in this children's story
I read it out loud to my Library club participants aged 7 and 8 and they loved it as well. Where Pamela has written words in capital letters, I got the children to read them out loudly so it felt like we were all involved.
I was so pleased when the children wanted to read the actual myth about Icarus and Dedalus which in turn moved onto the story of The Minotaur.
We have other titles by Pamela Butchart in our library which the children love. Maybe one will find its way into my suitcase and go on holiday!
If you like history then this is a good book for you!
I thought Icarus was very stupid to think a rock with seaweed on it was a lady! He should have glasses on!
I like how instead of it being one big story that is lots of little storys.
A funny, entertaining book in which Izzy retells 4 Greek myths with lots of modern additions. The illustrations are funny and the informal chatty style make it very easy to engage with. Children who enjoy light humorous books and history will love it!
At first I didn't want to read it, but then once I started it I really enjoyed it
I like it, but it is a bit strange!
Good read, too many sub stories.
I liked reading about the greek myths . Icarus was definitely ridiculous
I liked reading about the greek myths . Icarus was definitely ridiculous
It was as good book but I prefer the other nosy crow books. It had 4 Greek myths in it and the book started with each drinking two much tea and his friends were telling him he was being like icarus
It was funny especially when Midas gets donkey ears.
So funny
I love how Izzy retold the stories but she told them her own style and made it funny
I enjoyed this book because Icarus was very lazy and he flew too close to the sun and because he did not listen to his father the wax from his wings melted and he died.
I Love that it was funny and based on Greek mythology
would give 10 stars if I could!
This is a super fun story of the greek miths, retolds by Izzy and her friends. I find these Pamela Butchart's books very funny!
this book has a collection of greek myths.
It is a very good book and teaches you important stuff
Extremely funny, I love this series!
Izzy sure knows a lot about Greek myths!! (I think she should write about them!.)
He was a very funny guy because he died by trying to impress sea weed that looked like a mermaid and he had wings that were made by waxes and he got to close to the sun and then died.
So funny
This book is great. I like how its got four stories in one book. My favourite story is Icarus was ridiculous because Icarus thinks the seaweed is a girl and how he tries to impress "the girl" even though he's falling to his death.
I loved this book
This book was quite interesting but didn't challenge my reading, although I enjoyed it.
Funny not accurate
amazing book I love fiction books and books by Pamela butchart
In this book, Izzy tells 4 retellings of very dramatic myths with the same action and adventure as the original myths but with added sandals! This book is very funny and enjoyable! I rate this 4 stars!
