So thrillers are not really my thing but this was recommended for the reading group so I read it. It's plot driven and the form he uses of alternate chapters from 'then' and 'now' make it quite compelling. BUT thrillers always seem to be about horrible things happening to children and women and this is no exception. He leaves cliff hangers at the end of every chapter and has designed the whole thing to be a page turner, so if you like page-turning thrillers and don't mind who's getting hurt then you'll probably love this, just not really my thing.
