Sent to Groosham Grange as a last resort by his parents, David Eliot quickly discovers that his new school is a very weird place indeed. New pupils are made to sign their names in blood; the French teacher disappears every full moon; the assistant headmaster keeps something very chilling in his room… What’s the meaning of the black rings everyone wears? Where do the other pupils vanish to at night? Most important of all, how on earth can David get away – alive?

verry good
Great start - lots of fun, but seemed to run out of steam at the end.
I,m still reading
A quick, mildly spooky read. Recommended for fans of Mega Monster and Alex Rider
I recommend Anthony Horowitz books to people that don't mind death and scary books. It was fiction and I liked the headmaster the most because he has two heads.

This is such a good book that I would rate it 20 if I could. This is perfect for mystery, adventure and funny books loving people. Once you have started reading it you wont bother to have dinner.
This fiction book is about a school about black magic and sorcery. My favorite character is Jill because one her journey to Groosham Grange, she said she was going to run away. When she got there, she attempted to escape but failed, and later in the book she never wanted to leave! I liked the part when David went on a ghost train at the funfair, after managing to escape from Groosham Grange, and all of the teachers he met there, made a spell on the ride to make the ghost train travel back to the island where Groosham Grange was!
I thought this book was fantastic and like Harry Potter. Groosham Grange was written before Harry Potter.
