A beautiful, moving and heartwarming tale about bravery, kindness and welcoming strangers, from the team behind The Building Boy.

Once, in an old rusty bin in an old rusty playground in an old empty park . . .

. . . there lived a little tortoise.

But Tortoise is lonely. He’s never seen any other tortoises, and wonders where they could all be hiding. Then, one day, he looks up and the night sky, and sees a million blinking lights winking at him. ""That must be where the other tortoises are – at the top of the sky! I wish I could join them."" But how can a little tortoise get to the top of the sky? And so begins a magical journey . . .

I like it is about tortoises and they are my favourite creature. Others would like it because it is set in a park and the tortoise lives in the bin. The tortoise does some smart thinking to build his parachute. The author uses the clock tower as a rocket, which is cool!

It was good because it involves a tortoise who tries to search for animals. I highly recommend it to some else and I think it's good for ages 3-10.

I didn't like it at the start because he didn't have any friends but at the end a mouse shared a home with the tortoise. I also thought it was funny when the tortoise thought a clock tower was a rocket.

A book which touches on some core values. Hope, compassion and perseverance - A great book for PSHE.

The illustrations by David Litchfield, like always, are engaging and allow children to lose themselves in them.
