Yes
Loved this story. It flowed nicely.
Ruby has had a tough time, but she finds courage to do the right thing. I'm not sure about the leeches, scorpions and hiding animals in side my clothes but you have to love an adventure story. I would recommend this book to all students who have a sense of adventure.
I found this a very exciting story. I like the way Ruby coped with all the challenges and unexpected events that came her way. I really liked all the details about the wildlife in Australia and India, and the friendship Ruby developed with Praveen. Ruby has had a difficult life but she wasn't overwhelmed by all the challenges she faced and I like the way her character develops during the story and how she comes to a greater understanding of those around her.
Interesting view of life in India.
This book is about a girl called Ruby that goes to live with her dad and grandmother in India. Her dad sets up a hotel with two mysterious men. She later finds evidence that those two men are poaching leopards and blaming her dad for it.
I liked how the girl found out about the animals and how she met a friend on the way
I really enjoyed this book because it was a very inspiring book about a girl who has to move without any choice. She finds a way to like a place she didnt like before. I would recommend this to someone aged 8-10 who enjoys adventure.
Exciting with factual information
I think it was a great book. It was a bit sad at the start as it explained the girl's feelings and her past. But when the girl (Ruby) found out that leopards where in danger, she vowed to save them!
Overall, I liked Ruby the best as she was brave and admitted when she needed help or told her friend if she was overwhelmed in mixed feelings.
I would recommend it to adventurous or nature loving readers.
I found this book very amazing
This is a very good story. It is a fiction and my favorite character is a boy called Praveen because he helped the boy very much. The story is, There lived a boy, with his dad and his granny in Australia and were Indians. They took some money from the neighbors and they were not able to give it back. So they left Australia and went to India, starting a hotel and living peacefully. I Will recommend this to children and adults as well.
A bit difficult to read but still good
I read this book at school as part of our class reader. It is all about adventurers and explorers in India. I didn’t think I would like the book at first, but after the first few chapters I was hooked! It’s an exciting story, but has sad moments too. I would recommend this book for 9-10 year olds.
This is a great book. Lots of thrills and unexpected things happen . My favourite character is Ruby. I would recommend this book to anyone at any age.
I really enjoyed "when the mountains roared" because it was really funny and quite scary. I would definitely reccomend it.

I loved this book. It has a female central character who is adventurous which is a nice change. I was hooked and taken on the journey with her. I could feel the emotions as she felt them in the book. A definite recommend.
A stunning book that deals with bereavement and loss from the eyes of 12 year old Ruby. Ruby shows strength, perseverance and determination to tackle what life throws at her and is willing to make a stand to protect the environment and those she loves. A truly amazing story.
An amazing action book, if you love saving animals this is the book for you.
I thought it was the best book ever.

I liked Ruby the best because she is brave and tries her very best. I like this book because it does have quite a lot of interesting facts about animals. I found it very factual and very intense, it made me want to read more.

This is a fiction book set in the mountains of India. Ruby is a young girl who ends up living in a run-down hotel at the foot of the Himalayas with her father, grandmother, pet dog Polly and a baby Kangaroo called Joey. Ruby discovers there are wild animals living all around them, scorpions, bears and leopards. One day Ruby spots the owners of the hotel behaving strangely and she sets out to find out just what it is they are up to.
