Join Daisy and Hazel on their fourth mystery in the bestselling Murder Most Unladylike series!
‘Ripping good fun’ The Times
‘Thrilling’ Guardian
As they return to Deepdean for a new school term, Daisy Wells and Hazel Wong are faced with some big changes.
For one, there’s a new Head Girl, Elizabeth Hurst, and a team of Prefects- and these bullying Big Girls are certainly not good eggs.
Then, after the fireworks display on Bonfire Night, Elizabeth is found – murdered.
Many girls at Deepdean had reason to hate Elizabeth, but who might have committed such foul play?
Could the murder be linked to the secrets and scandals, scribbled on scraps of paper, that are suddenly appearing around the school?
And with their own friendship falling to pieces, how will Daisy and Hazel solve this mystery?

The head girl is murdered! Miss Bernard thinks that she was murdered with a rake, but soon it becomes clear that she was actually murdered with a hockey stick. Filled with lots of red herrings and kept me on the edge of my seat!
It was exciting, dramatic and I couldn't put it down.
I liked this book because it was so intriguing , Twists and turns at every corner! The end really surprised me! It was a great mystery book.
I have read other books in this series & really like the characters Hazel & Daisy. I like how they solve the mysteries!
It was amazing because it had 2 crimes as well as murder. It was a clever murder like all the other books are. Read it!
Another mysterious, fantastic, fun book in the murder most unladylike serious. It had the usual twists and turns in it - the murder is surprising. I recommend it to children 9+ who like mysterious and don't mind gore ( vegetarians might not like it).
I ABSOLUTELY ADORE THIS SERIES! Robin Stevens writes them so well! My favourite character in this one is Hazel, because she is so different to Daisy but they get along so well! I would recommend this to anyone who likes historical fiction and murder mystery!
I love this book, I especially love hazel she is always on it, she is a great detective and is best friends with daisy although they did fight they got back to being best friends forever. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone that loves intrigue.
Really good murder mystery you should read it
I love the thrill
It was extraordinary and thrilling
It was a good book
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT
My favourite part is when Binny is found at last and she was asking for buns and biscuits because she was hungry and surprised why the girls around her were all worried and relieved. I really recommend this book.
I loved this book. My best character was Hazel.
I would definitely recommend it .
Daisy Wells and Hazel Wong try to solve a murder of the Head Girl, Elizabeth Hurst, on Bonfire Night. The caretaker Jones, was framed and accused of the murder. I was tingling with excitement when reading the book! It was such a fantastic read!
It is a really interesting book about a murder, their leader is founded being dead and two girls are trying to solve the puzzle of who murdered her .And once they find out who it is they need to convince the murder and the inspector.
Love It!! Great Read !!! So interesting!
I loved how this one included the children, signalling that anyone can do horrible things but some people just don’t believe it. The main suspects were the Prefects which made the story very cleverly written because of the alibis and the motives of the students.
I thought this book was really good because it was full of mystery . I like that the book was not just murder but kidnapping as well. I would recommend this book to my friends
I enjoyed this because it is part of one of my favourite book series , I liked the part where Lavinia , Beanie/Rebeca , Hazel , Daisy and Kitty sneak into The Five's Dorm to discover motives for Elizabeth's murder. I would recommend this book to my friend Izzy because she likes murder mystery books too.
Great
This book was good as it had lots of plot twists and it was very entertaining.
amazing it is veryfun to read
I love the plot twists in all of the books in the series, especially this one
This book is great because I love to find out who the murderer is at the end
This is a murder mystery set at Deepdeene school for girls. The Head girl is murdered so Daisy and Hazel set out to find the culprit. I enjoyed this book.
I liked the tensions between Daisy and Hazel in this book because in the previous three books it shows you how much control Daisy really has over Hazel, but now that Hazel is kind of breaking free from Daisy's power, you can see how much trouble it causes. And they sort of have to hide it from the other three girls who have joined the society. But for a summary of this book, who the murderer was didn't really seem like a good storyline for me. I thought that one of the other of the Five (spoiler of who it ISN'T ahead, not Margaret though she would not be a good murderer) would have been a much better criminal than who it really was. I also love the front cover so propers to Nina Tara, I think her name is.
Really good I don’t like Elizabeth though
What I liked about this book was the ending because it wasn’t as I expected it to be. This book is about two girls called Daisy and Hazel who investigate a murder at their school, Deepdean .The murderer is on the loose and is kidnapping girls ,with secrets coming out and the Detective Society falling out ,will Deepdean ever be the same again ? My favourite character was Beanie (aka Rebeca Marteniu) Marteniu as she was willing to fight for her friends in the dungeon against Enid. I would recommend this book to people who like mystery books , crime stories and Cluedo . I think this book is a blend of Malory Towers by Enid Blyton and the game Cluedo as the setting reminds me of Malory Towers and the crime, and mystery reminds me of playing the game Cluedo . This book really makes you try to guess who the murderer is . Read the book to find out !
