Domestic abuse and violence warning. Suicide mentioned. Mental health discussions.
A great read with interesting characters. Other reviews have been controversial but I enjoyed it!

Absolutely loved this book. I read it in three days on holiday. Perfect ending. Can't wait to read the sequel. I really admired the strength of the lead character in exceptionally difficult circumstances. Written with true heart and was sadly very believable.

I wanted to see what the hype was about this book that 'everybody' was reading including the students! It was definitely a book i couldn't put down and i think it deals with relationship abuse and the realities very well. I would recommend it but probably to those in Y9 and above at least.

I loved this book so much i would give it 100/10 that's how good it was, but I'm sad it ended but I'm so happy and proud for the protagonist and i hate Ryle anyways stan atlas.

To be honest I really loved it. You get a really good POV of abusive relationships. People always say that it’s easy to leave an abusive relationship whereas Lily and her mother both show the reason they didn’t leave. Lily was manipulated and lied to way too many time by Ryle without even realising she was getting manipulated. Even though she knew what was happening and that he kept on “accidentally” hitting her, she was too blinded by love to realise that it wasn’t normal. If it wasn’t for her mother, she would’ve stayed in the relationship. Atlas may have left Lily but he was always the one for Lily. The author made us kind of dislike Atlas and made us fall in love with Ryle instead until his true colours started to show after the marriage. Even all the lovely things Ryle did for Lily he was never the one. Yes he bought her things, made her happy and made her fall in love with someone other than Atlas but all that was destroyed once he started abusing her and said that she fell when he knew he did it. Especially when he raped her after finding out who gave the magnet, he had no right, if he really loved he would’ve asked beforehand for an explanation rather than hitting and raping her. He kept on blaming his past on the reason he was hurting Lily. I mean I get where he’s coming from but if he loved her he wouldn't want her to feel the hurt that he went through. He's so stupid. Atlas always knew she was in a wrong relationship and I love him for that. Ryle was too hurt in the past that he started to physically give the hurt on to Lily. Atlas was hurt too in the past but he had nothing but love for Lily, Ryle obviously couldn’t do that. There’s soo much to say I just don’t know how to say it.

I loved the premise of this book. It's not your typical chick-lit, as it has a very serious topic.
My favourite character was Ryle, and I know technically he was the 'person doing a bad thing', I feel like his character wasn't done proper justice, as it seems his flaws over-shadowed his traits. In no way do I condone domestic violence, but I do feel like those scenes were not properly explained, as I felt his acts of violence, could also be explained as violent reflexes... yeah that doesn't sound any better!
I would definitely recommend this book, especially so I can discuss it with someone else!!
