Durrell has an uncanny knack of discovering human as well as animal eccentricities’ Sunday Telegraph
Ten-year-old Gerald doesn’t know why his older brothers and sisters complain so much.
With snakes in the bath and scorpions on the lunch table, the family home on the Greek island of Corfu is a bit like a zoo so they should feel right at home…
Gerald joyfully pursues his interest in natural history in the midst of an unconventional and chaotic family life – all brilliantly retold in this very funny book. TweetReviews
An oldie, but such a wonderful book - it took me a little tie to read, and one I'd recommend for slightly older/more proficient readers. Durrell's written style is beautifully comic - an absolute riot and I found myself roaring with laughter at times!
very capturing and funny
I really like this book because the way they describe the boys interest about nature.
its good for over 9 year olds
