It was super fun to try and work out who did it. I love a good whodunit. My favourite character was probably Lil, but I like Sophie as well and I cannot possibly leave out Blackie the cat. I am a cat person but I don't mind dogs.
I really enjoyed the suspension in this book.
This book is really interesting for people who like mysteries. 10/10 100% recommend

Better for older kids but a fun read.
5 out of 5
This fiction book was so mysterious. The daring escapades captured my interest. I loved all the discoveries they made. I can’t wait to read more from the author.
I liked this book because it was really exciting. When Sophie is blamed for the theft of the clockwork sparrow, she and her new friends Lil,Billy and Joe set out to prove that she is innocent.I liked Sophie the best because she never lets Edith get on her nerves when she is teasing her.
Amazing
I thought this book was excited scary and nerve racking
I liked it because it's a really interesting mystery, and it's about a girl called Sophie who is suspected for a theft of her teachers's clockwork sparrow. Therefore she teams up with some friends and manages to find out who it really was..
I recommend it to 9+ but really probably anyone could enjoy it. I also enjoy other books by this author like the mystery of the Painted Dragon. I mainly enjoyed it because it builds up suspense really well.
Taisiya.
I loved this mystery book it was very exciting.
My favourite character is Sophie, because she has many obstacles to beat, but she always pulls through in the end.
I thought this was a thrilling adventure about murder and mystery. My favourite characters were Lil and Sophie, Lil for her positivity and help, and Sophie for her bravery and detective skills.I would recommend this book to anyone age 8 or over. I don’t think it matters what type of book people like because it’s got a bit of everything. Five stars ⭐️!!,
I thought it was really mysterious with lots of secrets.
if it was fiction, I like Sophie the best.
it interested me because it is a mystery.
I may recommend it to my friends who like mysteries.
My favourite character was Lil because she is smiley funny and nearly always positive and she will do anything to help someone else with there problem.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a thrilling mystery and a bit of murder.
I really liked the book because it was really thrilling and mysterious and liked all the characters and there personalities.
I really enjoyed it and the fact that it was set in the past. I was on a rollercoaster of emotions but loved it and would recommend it to children between 9 and 12.
I rated it five out of five because of the suspense
I loved this book because it had murder, mystery, robbery and more!
This book is an amazing book. Everyone who is interested in drama should read it!
I recommend this book to people who love suspense and mysteries. I love this book because it kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't stop reading it. My favourite characters were all the people who helped solve the mystery. There are lots of twists and turns which is why I love it. I can't wait to read the next book.
I absolutely loved this book. It was so gripping and I could not put it down! It is all about Sophie who is working at Sinclair's Department Store. The most precious item, the clockwork sparrow, is stolen and Sophie is blamed but she believes it is to put the police of the scent of what really happened. So her and her friends become determined to solve the mystery. It is a detective book and I would recommend it to children who like detective books and want to try and solve it as they read.
I absolutely loved this book. This was the first mystery book I had ever read, and wow, what a difference it made! I now only read these type of books and have already completed the next three in the series. My favourite character is Sophie as
1. She is named after me
2. She is one of the most daring and kind people in the book!
I have great recommendations for this story. You should definitely read it!
Great book, really draws you in, if you like this book you are bound to LOVE Robin Stevens’ books too!
I really enjoyed the clock work sparrow because it was a great mystery and how it was set in the early 20th century.
It good mystery book but was a little bit predictable. If you are looking for a book with a bit of mystery and some detection this book is for you. If you want to work out what is happening at or just before the detectives do then you may not enjoy this so much as it dose not all ways let you work it out before it gives you an important bit of info about the case. I would recommend it to children aged 8-12 as some bits could be scary and unsuitable for anyone younger.
This was a great mysterious book and would highly recommend it to people who are fans of mystery books
I enjoyed how you were always tricked into believing one thing and then you find out it's actually something completely different.
I would recommend this to any child and you will soon see yourself becoming a Katherine Woodfine fan (like me)
