Evoking the mood of the American Twenties, and wealthy lives filled with excess and illusion, this is the story of Jay Gatsby’s yearning for the beautiful Daisy.

Really helpful in understanding the past, I absolutely love the plot.
Filled with characters ranging from flawed to thoroughly unlikeable, I found this book to be a departure from my typical reading. I thought the book was fascinating and unsettling in equal measure, like driving past a car accident. It has reignited an interest in American literature that has layed dormant since I read Of Mice and Men 25 years ago.
At first, I thought this book was going to be boring and dull but when I tried it out, I found it was very enjoyable and imaginative! At times, the language could be quite difficult and I had to look up meanings but that just adds to the challenge! I thought it was an interesting book with an even more interesting plot. Everything came together so well at the end and it was very well thought out. My favourite character would be Jordan Baker (the famous golfer) because she is a brave, daring character and really skilled too! I recommend this book to anyone up for a challenge!
Fantastic book for a levels!
