Raphael is a dumpsite boy. He spends his days wading through mountains of steaming trash, sifting it, sorting it, breathing it, sleeping next to it. Then one unlucky-lucky day, Raphael’s world turns upside down. A small leather bag falls into his hands. It’s a bag of clues. It’s a bag of hope. It’s a bag that will change everything.

Got you thinking about people in more deprived and corrupt areas of the world.
Always danger wherever they turn this book sucked me straight in! I enjoyed it so much I would read it forever
This book was abit slow. Fast paced at times but didn't really hold my interest.
Really interesting book and made me think about how different life is here to how he lives in India.
This was such a good read. I loved it! We read in school as a class and i read again by myself because of how good it is. It is a book that keeps you at the edge of your seat on the turn of every page. I would definitely recommend this book to anything to anyone out there who loves adventure. Do read this amazing book as it really has a good meaning to it!
A real page-turner, couldn’t put it down. Tells the story of Gardo, Raphael and Jun-jun (Rat) who live and work on a rubbish dump. A story about extreme poverty, social injustice and above all friendship.
I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. I read it to check it was OK to read to UKS2 and block out the language that I would not be reading out loud. The characters came to life as I read more into the book. I was determined to finish the book just to see if they succeeded in the end - I won't give any spoilers. The book does come with a word of warning - there is some choice language that pops into the chapters without you knowing so if you plan to read out you might be better reading it first just in case!!
Read this for a 'We can change the world' unit in Year 6 this summer. When I was reading it on my own, it felt more like I was reading a book written for adults. There are a few swear words and lots of corruption included but the plot is interesting and each chapter is told from different perspectives by the characters too. Recommended for Year 6 (with caution)/7 pupils.
This book consists three boys named Raphael, Rat and Gardo who work in Behala dumpsite. They find a black, leather bag with a wallet inside it containing money which is the reason why the police came to the dumpsite in the search of it as it was linked with a crime involving fraud and murder. I highly recommend this book to people who like mysteries and adventures!
I found this book very interesting as it talks about 3 friends who live in a loads full of trash
It was a slightly scary action packed novel.
I liked this story and listened to it on audio. My favourite character was rat. I liked the ending
I liked this book very nice
This is different to other stories I have read. It is a shock as it has police corruption.
My favourite character is Rat. He is so poor.
I recommend it for Year 6 children.
I LOVE IT

Whoa! I never ever knew that the rubbish were abandon is a village like this. How upsetting! :(
Well the book is quite good. :)
This book is good because it tells a story about a trash boy acting kind of like a detective when he finds a clue about a murder while sorting through trash. He and his friends must go on an adventure around the area try and solve it and are rewarded at the end with lots of money.
This is a book about three boys, Raphael, Gardo and Rat who live on trash every day. But one day, they find something amazing among the trash, which leads them to a terrible disaster where they have to try and escape their trouble. It has a secret code they have to crack, as well.
The BEST book!!
I think you should read this book because there are 3 boys who live in a humongous trash in Behala. One day a mystery thing happens.
