Really emotional
Great Book!
Quite heart-warming and enticing despite such a devastating plot!
I really liked it because it tells you a lot about what happened in the second world war. It made me think about what it would have been like if I was alive in that time. It was also very fun for kids.
This story is really good and it is funny how the boy pees on the bed and the story has a twist at the end which is the exact opposite of the beginning of the story.
Interesting to read history, from a story view.
I loved this book it was quite sad but it was happy in ythe end!
Such a lovely heart-warming book that knows how to grab those emotions.
Goodnight Mr Tom was an amazing book - is probably a classic! I loved everything . Everything . Willie was just a poor boy and Mr Tom was so caring - well - sort of ? It was so sweet !
This book had everything - happy moments, sad moments, mad moments and funny moments. At times it was upsetting to read but this is a book about relationships and the strength of love. I would read this again and would recommend this book to others aged 9 and over.
I read this book with my mum and we both really enjoyed it, it tells the adventure of city evacuee boy Willie and his moving to the countryside because of the war.
A boy called Willie Beech is evacuated just before the outbreak of World War 2 to a small village in the countryside when he is then taken care of by a mean old widower called Thomas Oakley
Good understanding of characters minds and how to help them help themselves.
Absolutely love this book, it's my favourite
This was a really good, the book was so intresting and could make you cry the ending was amazing and good.
An interesting book.
Recommend for 10 and over
This book is really good. My favourite character is Carrie because everybody thought girls can't do a lot of things but she didn't care so she takes an exam and is the first girl from Little Weirworld to go to high school. I also like Zach because everybody thinks he is strange but he will never stop doing what he likes no matter what anybody else thinks. This book can bring tears to your eyes but is an amazing story!
Loved it. 📚
Its nice , interesting
I would recommend it people who like History
I really loved this heartbreaking story about an evacuee and Mr Tom, a kind old man who took him into his home.
I read this book in preparation for the Year 7 topic on WW2. I thought that it might be a good companion piece for Phil Earle’s, ‘When the Sky Falls’. An absolutely stunning piece - strong characterization, burgeoning relationships…all the twists and turns of the storyline told in quite an understated manner. Quite sad that I’ve finished it now. I would highly recommend this book. It will now go onto the ‘books I’ve been reading’ shelf at school 📚
Interesting. I would definitely recommend this book.
It was interesting to read as you get to learn more about the Second World War and what it would of been like to be there. My favorite character is definitely Mr Tom and I would recommend this book.
Very nice
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was emotional at times but a very good story.
I love how old Mr Tom takes in an evacuee and then finds he actually likes the evacuee. I recommend the book for 6-12 year olds
It was very good.
My favourite character was Mr Tom .
I would recommend it to my sister.
I think that this book is a fantastic classic. It shows kindness and respect, along with hard work.
My favourite character was Zach. He is a funny character and he shows a great talent of performing on stage and tap dancing.
I would really recommend this book to someone as it is a great book as it shows a lot of emotion everyone will have in their life.
This is a very moving book of wartime in the country. My favourite character is Mister Tom because he is so sweet. My second favourite was Zach because he was so kind and such a good friend to Willie. I cried when he died!!!!
i just love it but it has a sad ending. i recomend this to evryone as this is a very good book
A book about a boy called William who is sent in the was to a seeming grumpy old man. The story unravels and their friendship gets stronger. A great insight about how life was in the war. I liked William the best and watching him grow through the story
