Discover the joy and wonder of Mary Poppins in the classic adventures!
The original best-loved classic about the world’s most famous nanny – Mary Poppins. When the Banks family advertise for a nanny, Mary Poppins and her talking umbrella appear out of the sky, ready to take the children on extraordinary adventures. Mary Poppins is strict but fair, and soon Michael and Jane are whisked off to a funfair inside a pavement picture and on many more outings with their wonderful new nanny! Needless to say, when at last ‘the wind changes’ and she flies away, the children are devastated. But the magic of Mary Poppins will stay with the Banks family forever. The original story of the world’s most famous nanny, Mary Poppins, is a timeless classic that has enchanted generations. TweetReviews
This was the penultimate book of the reading challenge and one of many books that I had wanted to read more and more. P.L. Travelers uses so much description to help the reader understand how the characters are feeling and help create an experience that indulges you in the stories of excitement and thrill.
Travelers dedicated her life to books. This has shown in Mary Poppins she also has showed her determination and ability to make books come alive in your mind. These things make her stories something special for young and old readers: description, detail, metaphors, similes, adjectives and punctuation. This book has inspired me to read a new genre of books [fantasy/magical] that I have never read before.
Fiction book. Jane is my favourite because she was able to float. I would recommend the book because it is a great book.
Not a great story. Chapters didn't follow well
My favourite part was when they laughed so much they had a tea party on the ceiling!
Really enticing and interesting ,with twists around every corner . They say the book is different to the movie. It truly is . Magical and entertaining book . Reccomend to young children
This was a fantastic book! Mary Poppins is a mysterious character and very quiet. She is also extremely tidy. My favourite character was Jane Banks.(A little girl who Mary Poppins looked after) This book was so good that I couldn't put it down! I felt like I was part of it throughout the whole book! I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys funny and mysterious books.
I Love Ms. Poppins. She is every child’s dream of a nanny ! She sang comforted and loved the 2 Banks’ children as her own. She made sure to teach them things as they learned lessons about everyday life. Their parents would have truly been lost without her.
I really enjoyed this book. My favourite character was Jane because the author made her sound very real and she was just like Hane in the movie.
Anyone who likes stories with lots of imagination would enjoy this book.
This book is a bit hard but anyone older will understand, it is different from the movie but amazing
I like this book and despite knowing the film adaptation so well, it was really enjoyable. It's written well and the book itself is really lovely. There are some differences and extras to the film which made it more fun and interesting.
This book is about the life of a magical babysitter called Mary Poppins. Mary Poppins is strict but kind and my favourite character. I really enjoyed this book but I didn't like that it was set long time ago.
I enjoyed it
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I liked the bit where she went with the children and they had their afternoon tea on the ceiling. However, the book was a bit different from the the film because Mary Poppins was a lot stricter and there were the twins John and Barbara.
I found this book a bit long.
This was a good and interesting book. It made me think about all the things around us that we take for granted. I would definitely recommend this to other people. My favourite character is Mary Poppins.
The wonderful new nanny changed their lives forever, she was strict but fair.
I would recommend to other people
This is one of the best books I have read because I have watched the film. Also this is differant to the film so I find it interesting. My favourite part was when Micheal was naughty all day. My reccomendation to this fictional book is yes I would reccomend this book because if I can read it, anyone can read this special book.
This book is mind-blowing.
Amazing
I loved the book my favorite chapter was when they met Mr. Wigg.
Simply magical!
I liked this book but I preferred the film because it has songs in which I can sing along to. My favourite character is Mary Poppins because I have a Mary Poppins doll.
It was fun and exciting with lots of adventure in it.
Two children were looking out their window when they saw through the glass that there was a woman bobbing through the air, her fist tightly gripped onto a pail green umbrella. Soon after they heard the doorbell ring and rushed to the banister and as soon as they did they saw the odd lady being escorted by their mother to the living room. They overheard the strange lady saying, “I am here to be your children's nanny.” “oh and by the way my name is Mary Poppins.” Then the strange lady apparently named Mary Poppins gracefully slid up the Banister!
Join Jane and Michael on there amazing adventures with Mary Poppins
I love it!
I Would recommend it
I enjoyed reading about the stories of Mary Poppins and what she could do with her magic powers. my favourite character was Jane
I thought Mary Poppins was funny and crazy because she had a massive carpet bag.
She is a nanny that looks after Jane and Michael banks, when their parents put up a notice for a nanny, many come but Mary Poppins arrived on the east wind and slides up the bannister, changing children’s way of seeing the world. Mary Poppins is strict but takes them on fun-filled crazy adventures but when the wind changes she has to leave.
I recommend this book to ages 8-14 because some of the language is hard to understand.
I would recommend this book because Mary Poppins has a magic bag and she can fly with umbrella.
I loved this book, it's really funny and my favorite in the series so far! It is based in the Victorian era.
I would recommend it for 7+!
Although older than my Grandma, this book is still an perfect read for people of all ages. I mean, maybe not extremely young children who would not understand the old fashioned expressions, but besides that it is awesome to just sit and read the chapters that each express a different story and different adventure.
I thought this book was really good, it was fun reading. It was funny to me because it was so random! Mary Poppins was talking with a polar bear! My favourite character was Mary Poppins because of her magic bag. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes Fantasy as it was full of magic and adventure!
