Everyone knows that Louis is a loudmouth, he never stops talking and drives everyone crazy. No one believes him when he announces that he’s going to do a sponsored silence to raise money for the new school library. But Louis is determined, just for once, to keep his mouth shut. To his surprise he finds that he actually enjoys listening, that lessons are much better when he’s really involved in them – and that it’s very satisfying to raise money for the school.

Louis decides to do a sponsored silence to raise money for school. No one thinks he can do it. However, he learns a valuable lesson about listening to others…
A good story for anyone in LKS2 really.

Loudmouth Louis is about a boy who never stops talking. He went to his grans house to ask her for help to stop talking, but his garn spoke more than he did.
His music teacher tried to train him to be quiet by using cowbells. He was to hand this out to his classmates and stay quiet between each child. This worked and Louis could finally be quiet for short periods. This was a non-fiction book and I thought it was very funny.

I would recommend this book to children aged 7-10 years old

It showed me that you can't always be loud and you can't always be quiet

I liked this book because it reminds me of someone in the class *cough* *cough* Lewis. The story in a brief summary is about a boy who couldn’t shut up and as a result when they were allocating jobs for the school fair didn’t get a job. He said to the teacher that he had a brilliant idea but didn’t want to tell because he didn’t have it yet. He is stuck until his dad (what a coincidence its FATHER’S DAY) gives him an idea ACCIDENTLY due to his laziness which was a fund raise by staying quiet. At the end of the book, Louis learned that if you shut up more often you would learn something.

This book is SOOOO good
Here's a bit about it
W
e all talk a lot at times, but Louis Todd (aka Loudmouth Louis) talks more than most. In fact, he never stops talking. Ever.
Much to the incredulity of everyone, he decides to hold a sponsored silence for a day. But can he really accomplish this extraordinary task? A highly amusing story complemented by expressive line drawings.
