The book was fiction, and my favourite person was Clare. Clare loved baby fox cubs. Her parents did not like foxes at all. It was a nice book.

I thought it was a sad ending because the fox got killed by clare's dad. I think this book had a bit of ups and downs but was a good book. this book is fiction and my favourite charter was the fox Larry. It has a good start but a sad ending.

The book is about a girl called Clare who finds a fox cub. It is trying to escape being hunted. She looks after the fox in a shed and doesnt tell her mum and dad about it. It is a really sad book because the fox gets shot in the end by her dad. I liked Clare the best because she was very kind to the cub. I would recommend it to other people but not young children because it's very sad.

This book was amazing. I have watched foxes in my garden during the lock down. They come every evening for some food and are my friends - like in the book.

A really well written book. Although sad in parts, it's a good way to help children understand.

This book was very well written however it was quite sad and emotional. I would recommend it to anyone who likes sad or emotional books. It is not an adventure book.

Clare lived her life on a farm and she's never seen a fox until, she finds a little injured cub who lost his mum. Clare wants to take care of him but she has to keep him hidden from dad. I thought this book was good because Clare took care of the fox. It interested me because Clare didn't see a fox then actually found one. I recommend it to someone because it was a brilliant fox book.

I was really happy at the start of the book but by the time I got to the end I was very sad. It showed me that if you look after something wild for too long, it does not stay away and things go wrong. I love reading Michael Morpurgo books.

The ending felt rushed and it didn't really make sense.

Apart from that it was a good book.

This was a short story by Michael Morpurgo-you could finish it in an evening!

Clare's mum and dad hunt foxes and Clare hates the idea. One day, when she was out riding her horse, Red, she found a baby fox. She looked after it; feeding it, giving it water and keeping the fox company. She named him Larry; however, as he grew up, he became bigger, stronger and a lot faster, so one day Clare lets him out so Larry is free!
Hastily, the hunters come back from hunting foxes and bring back a fox. The very same fox that Clare had looked after. Larry. And the hunters had killed him.

A very heartwarming, tragic story by the best young writer Michael Morpurgo. I totally recommend it to you!
