Welcome to Absurdia: a strange and wonderful land where nothing is quite what it seems. Trees are birds, umbrellas are trees, and the sky is thick with snoring fish. Join one small boy as he tumbles out of bed into a crazy dreamland of wardrobe monsters, dragons — and amazing adventure. This gloriously rich and beautiful picture book comes from a uniquely talented artist at the height of his powers. With a story to enchant the youngest reader, and pictures to gasp and pore over whatever your age, it is an extraordinary achievement and one to savour.

Beautiful illustrations as always from Chris Riddell. My (beloved) primary school teacher hated the ‘it was all a dream trope’ and while I’m sure she would forgive this in a picture book, it still makes me feel dissatisfied. It’s a huge gentle story though and I love Chris’s pudgy little people.
Its was good
It was weird.

This book is very weird! The fishes fly and there is umbrella trees. But is only a dream.

It was rather funny.
I thought this was a good book and I loved the artwork and vibrant colours.
The story was about an emperor who wanted to find the wardrobe monster's golden scarf and his adventure to find it. Whilst on his mission, he met a funny green dragon who chased him. He found it eventually on a pointy tree. The emperor liked his meals. It was a bit confusing.
My favourite character was The Wardrobe Monster.

I thought it was a little scary as I thought the dragon was going to eat the Emperor of Absurdia.
I gave this 2/5 because I like the dragon in it but I don't like like the pictures because they scare me a bit. It does have a happy ending which I like. I wouldn't recommend this book.
if you like stories that repeat a lot of already said words this is a good book for you
