Read the HILARIOUS books that inspired the HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON films!
Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third is a smallish Viking with a longish name. Hiccup’s father is chief of the Hairy Hooligan tribe which means Hiccup is the Hope and the Heir to the Hairy Hooligan throne – but most of the time Hiccup feels like a very ordinary boy, finding it hard to be a Hero.
In the first How to Train Your Dragon book Hiccup must lead ten novices in their initiation into the Hairy Hooligan Tribe. They have to train their dragons or be BANISHED from the tribe FOR EVER!
But what if Hiccup’s dragon resembles an ickle brown bunny with wings? And has NO TEETH? The Seadragonus Giganticus Maximus is stirring and wants to devour every Viking on the Isle of Berk . . .
Can Hiccup save the tribe – and become a Hero?

I really like it because I love dragons and enjoyed the story line.
I like that it gives you so many good words and teaches you a lesson
Really good
I loved this story, the second best book in the world.
Not enough action
I like the book a lot because the style of pictures the illustrator has used is very unique compared to other basic pictures. In addition, I like how the character ‘snotlout’ thinks that he is more important than all the other members of the tribe, including the son of the head chief! I would say more, but I don’t want to spoil the story. I would definitely recommend this book!!
Amazing, speechless
I like Toothless because he is a very funny dragon and I would recommend it.
I have read this and you should read it because it is so good
I would recommend this book because it’s scary and a bit funny. I bit liked the best was when Hiccup escaped from the dragon’s mouth.
It’s so good it’s one of the best books I have ever read it’s got enough pictures in it so it’s not boring it describes it in a way so I can make a picture of it in my mind a true delight to read and it’s only 228 pages long
I liked how there were dragons and vikings as friends.
BRILLIANT! I think it had great scenes and a brilliant story
.I think Hiccup was the best character because of his personality he was very funny and kind ,I also think Toothless was the best dragon because of his hysterical lines in the book and because of his diversity from the other dragons in the book because of his half loving heart and his friendship with Hiccup.
I recommend the book to everyone who loves adventures in a fantastical world of dragons and vikings.
I can’t wait to read the rest of the books!
My favourite character was hiccup because he was very brave and defeated the scary dragon.
I would recommend this book - I couldn’t put it down!
I liked this book.
This book is absolutely brilliant, so funny and draws you not only to the fictional element of the story but also links in a bit of history as well, even if it is not accurate.
A great read!
I really liked this book because it was fun and had dragons in it. My favourite character was Toothless because although he was naughty and didn’t listen to Hiccup at the beginning, he saved him at the end! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys books about dragons and Vikings! I liked the other books in the series too!
I really like this book
Great!
I thought thay Hiccup wasnt good but in the end you could see he was growing up to be a very successful person.
The book is funny because its written like it was written by kids.
Definitely recommend it!
It was loads of fun hearing about all the stories of toothless and his friends.
so good
It was ok .It was fiction and weird.I would not recommend it for people who like nice and calm stories.
good plot and the main character has some amazing interactions however, as with all the books in this series it relies heavily on one in a thousand chances.
I thought this book was alright, I really liked characters like Spineless, but the book didn't give me the 'keep turning the pages ' feeling.
I borrowed this book on BorrowBox, as an audio book. I LOVED it. I have listened to 5 of this series so far. I love the narrator (David Tennant) and hearing all about Beurk.
It was amazing!!!! My favourite character was Gobber the belch and the drawings were so funny. I would recommend it to comedy lovers and fantasy enthusiasts.
I liked this book because it has lots of dragons in it.
It was a funny fictional book that made me want to read the rest.
