I give this book an absolute 5 out of 5. This book had lots of twists and expressed real life stuff like emotions. I love the the idea of how his life was perfect but then a sudden change his best friend moved and now they were going to sail around the world in a boat called the 'Peggy Sue'. absolutely no changing at all! Highly recommend this book to about... everybody!! Extremely amazing book!

Michael Morpurgo is a brilliant and fantastic author and I hope that he writes more stories like Kensuke’s Kingdom. It is a mind blowing adventurous, amazing, and thrilling true story. Many thanks for sharing his story that happened in his life.

It is exciting, trills, adventures, a bit of tension, suspense, amazement along with a emotional bit of sadness but a happy ending. This book is really good and interesting. I like this book very much.

Michael, his parents and their faithful dog Stella Artios were set sail around the world in their yacht the “Peggy Sue”. In a storm one night Michael and Stella were washed off the Peggy Sue in the cold and dark sea of the night. Eddie Dodds, is Michael’s friend who presented a football that saved his life, it’s really a friend in need is a friend indeed. When Michael wakes up he finds he’s washed up on an island after falling from Peggy Sue. He struggles to survive on his own in the island due to lack of water and food.

Next day, he finds food and water waiting for him, then he realises there is someone close by, watching over him and helping him to stay alive and felt he’s not alone. The other person on the island was KENSUKE, a real saviour. Michael tried so many ways to get away from island such as sending a letter in a bottle, fire-smoke, etc. Once, Michael crosses the line in middle of the island.

Slowly, he knows about Kensuke the owner and only the other human of the island. Michael was rescued by Kensuke after stung by a poisonous jellyfish. They both understood each other after initial misunderstandings. During this period, Michael was exposed to real beauty of the nature. They both helped each other to rescue orang-utans from the killer men by gathering them into the safety cave. Michael learned so many things in Kensuke’s Kingdom. So begins a wonderful, heart-wrenching tale of friendship. Finally, Kensuke helped Michael to find his family. Michael eventually leaves Kensuke and his kingdom, forever.

I like this book very much and had fun reading this book.

I really liked this book because it was an adventure story all about travelling around the world by boat.
Kensuke was my favourite character because he is very brave and kept Michael alive on the island.
Yes, I would recommend it to my friends.

A powerful, emotive and engaging read for adults and children between 9-10. My favourite character was of course Michael, but I also loved to hear about the character development of Mam, Dad and Stella.

I do like this book. It was good but I wish it had touched me more made me more sad or happy. I would recommend this book to pe I'll people but its not the best Michael Morpurdgo I have read yet. My favourite characters although it didn't say much about them Kimi and Micasan, Kensuke's wife and son. The best part of this book is when micheal first makes his way on island and when they become friends.

This was amazing, fun, interesting and it built excitement in me while I was reading it. I was reading it every day and whenever I had free time. Stella Artois was my favourite character and she is a sheepdog with one ear up and one ear down. It was fiction not factual. There was also a boat that had the name Peggy Sue! As I said at the beginning it interested me loads. I had two favourite characters, one I already mentioned, but the other one I didn't mention yet and that is Michael's mum. Michael is the name of the boy in this book.

Great story line, particularly enjoyed the part when Michael found himself on the island and met Kensuke.

Great! I got the idea of reading it from school where my teacher read it to us for a few weeks. It is in the adventure-survival category and is based around 40 years after WW2. It is about a boy and his dog who get washed up on a desert island during a sail around the world and struggle to survive mosquitoes during the night. However, in the morning, there is fresh food where he slept...but how?

06 Aug 2020

It is a really interesting book because Michael is on a deserted island and finds a man called Kensuke and he helps him.
My favourite person is Michael because he was very brave.
I would recommend it to someone else because it is about adventure.
