Based on a true story - fantastically written
It was amazing that this was a true story I really couldn't put it down and I literally cried at this book for Adeline because I felt like I was living the book
I liked the story what it was based on and I loved the bit where adeline got her own children it was very interesting and funny
I loved the plot and, as I read it, I felt as if it was actually happening in front of me.
I was given this book as a leaving gift.
Although not a book I would have chosen myself as I don't tend to enjoy true stories, I have thoroughly devoured the story of Adeline as she is now known.
The book, based on a true story, is a fascinating insight into a different world, culture and way of family life. In parts it is difficult to read due to the experiences faced by Adeline. It makes you appreciate what you have and what is most precious.
The parallels with the more familiar Cinderella story are obvious yet this book is so much more than a fairy tale set in another part of the world.
I will definitely be recommending this to my teacher friends.
A very sad story and almost made me cry .
Adeline made many friends and had to lose them because of her parents dislike towards her.
It has more of a happy end where she wins a international competition and her father is finally proud.
Touching.
I read about a girl who was unwanted by her family and they send her to boarding school but in the end she got to study in England. It was non-fiction it was about the author’s life and I liked Adeline the best because she never gave up.It interested me because I was excited to hear about other people’s life and culture.I would definitely recommend this book.
This book was a very interesting read with all the different turns of events but altogether the book was amazing.
Extremely emotional story but with heart-warming messages inside. I would recommend it to everyone who wants to see what real-life writing is because it is just amazing.
This book is BRILLIANT! It is a heartwarming tale about a true story about the author herself; it takes courage to write about being mistreated and feeling like you're being left out.
This book is really heartwarming and sad at the same time. You really get to know the characters and you'll wish you could know more!
This is a really sad book and it would be good for people who read humorous and joke books it would be for people who read crime, mystery and dramatic books.
A true, heart braking story.
Must read.
