this book was a bit weird but very lovely. WOW though it was full on!
Martine loses her parents to a fire and she moves to South Africa to stay with her grandmother, who she barely knows. When she arrives she hears about a myth, all about a child and white giraffe! This is a book for nature lovers, animal lovers and adventure lovers!
Good , but sad and a bit tickley
i love how the girl was shift to new life and she adapted quickly
A beautiful wildlife adventure book. Would recommend to animal lovers.
This is one of the best books I’ve ever read. It was fiction and my favorite character was Martine who falls in love with a white giraffe. Her parents died in a fire so she has to live in Africa with her Grandmother. Her giraffe is being hunted by poachers and it all comes down to Martine to save her. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone.
I loved the book it was Amazing and good detail
I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH.
I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH.
Very interesting and illuminated certain parts of the story very well.
This was an amazing book. I love the part when Jemmy and Martine are reunited.
It was a book with so much descriptive language. It was hard to understand them but It was an
emotional book with no actual story In It. I liked Zouma the best.
Love all her books.
Martine has to live with her grandmother after the death of her parents. Her Grandmother lives on a wildlife reserve in South Africa. I started to read this in Year 4 of school but we did not get chance to finish it. It was bought for my Birthday so I could finish reading the book. It was a sad but exciting book. It had me guessing what was going to happen next. My friends at school bought this book too.
I read this book with a Year 5 class. The descriptions of Sawubona Reserve, Grace and Jemmy provided rich material for role-play, non-fiction reports and diary entries. The text explored new beginnings, family, friendship, conservation, poaching, magic and traditional healing. Now everyone wants to ride a (white) giraffe! I'm really looking forward to reading other titles in this series by Lauren St John.
it was really good
This book was ok because the white giraffe nearly gets hunted down
I like jermihga and martine and i would recomend to my freinds
This book is about a girl named Martine who goes to Africa after her mum and dad die ina fire inside their house that is in London. Then, she is sent to Africa to stay with her long lost grandmother she never even knew about. She eventually finds a white giraffe and she thinks she is the outcast of the whole school. Her very strict grandmother tells her she has to stay clean and tidy but Martine disagrees with the rules.
It is an amazing book that is full of action. It has sudden twists that you do not expect!
I think that this book is awesome! It has amazing setting descriptions and a very touching story line. I am definitely going to read the rest of the collection and will enjoy every word of it!
It was fiction, I liked the animals and the characters. My favourite character was Martine because she saved the white giraffe at the end of the book.
I recommended it too my mum who also loved this book. I reserved the rest of the series.
My mum is from South Africa so I really enjoyed reading this book as I could relate to a lot of it since we visit South Africa often as a family.

I found this book interesting because it was set in a country I knew nothing about . When the main character's parents die she goes to live in Africa with her Grandma. There she meets a white giraffe called Jemmy and discovers that she has magical powers.
I really enjoyed this book and found it heart-warming and loved the strength of Martine and The White Giraffe’s relationship! This is an excellent book I would highly recommended!
Excellent!
I liked Martine the best because she was really adventurous and she really cared for the giraffe and overcome her fears to do so.
I would recommend this book to someone else.
I love this book because I think that the main character, Martine is passionate about animals and has to try to stop the poachers from killing the rare white giraffe.
