Iggy and his brother Cal still can’t believe that they have the most wonderful adventure playground at the bottom of their garden – Wildtop Wood, a place that’s full of mystery and magic. There are whispering trees who lift them into the highest branches, wooden animals who scamper into their games, and a secret canopy treehouse den just for them!
But the wild green magic of Wildtop Wood is under threat. Not everyone loves the wood like they do, and Iggy, Cal and their friend Mae will have to dig deep into their imaginations to find a way to make the wood sing again …

I really enjoyed reading about the children's adventures in Wildtop Wood and I think it would be a great story to read as a class because you could then have discussions around why trees are important to us (for example acting as a flood barrier, the roots soaking up surface water and the wood being a fun place to play). In this adventure Cal, Mae and Iggy try really hard to stop Councilor Thornwood who wants part the woodcut down and overhead power cables being run through the middle. By the end, will they manage to save the wood and show everyone the green magic?
