Interest in animals and protecting the planet. Probably better for younger readers, KS2.
Ink splats! The best bit was putting the egg safely back and helping the baby turtles to the sea.
I really enjoyed this book.
It's incredible and lots of people should read.
The plot was great, full of complex characters, jeopardy in parts and a nice, feel-good ending. I also especially liked the animal characters which added fun and a little extra happiness to the the story and the illustrations are also beautiful.
I like this book because it tells you about turtles lives. I would recommend this book to anybody who likes nature.
I found this book a heart warming story and would recommend this book to others, especially if you like animals. Most of this book is set in Costa Rica. I just need to read the rest of Hannah Gold’s books now!
This book was about females I like to think …. In this story the trelvons traveled to Costa Rica for her dad to paint turtles and silver the young girl was a only child but her parents wanted another child so they tried for a few years but then the mother figured she can’t have kids but then when silver saw the turtles she describes she felt like a whole different her and when she explain to her mother, she felt like she wasn’t a enough she and her mother got a lot closer ever part that was ever cracked in Silver and her mother was gone . So I thought the morel was you never know the pain woman go through
Turtle Moon is such clever, courageous storytelling. I loved it!
I love that Silver rescued the turtle eggs . Its an Eco-fiction book and Silver helped regardless of her being scared .
It was good. My favourite character was Luna the turtle.

About a young girl Silver who has to leave school for some months to go live in a turtle rescue centre with her parents in Costa Rica. Quite a sensitive book as the parents are unhappy and arguing all the time due to the fact they are trying to give Silver a sister or brother but it is not happening.

Another story from one of my favourite children’s authors. Set in Central America, it touches on child birth, loss and intertwines with humans and the endangered giant turtles. The story unfolds as the child have to rescue protected turtle eggs from poachers and another story with lots of environmental issues raised. A great read for KS2
