Swedish Ruby

This is about a Londoner Saba Sulidz-Donauri about his past of fleeing Civil war in post-soviet Georgia when he was a young child with his father and brother and then return twenty years later back to Tbilisi to search for truth about his mother Eka who stayed behind and was supposed to join them in England at a future date, but never did.
Saba is obsessed with finding his father Irakli and brother Sandra who went out previoustrly to find the answers the family needs. He is often accompanied by voices in his head from various past dead relations and friends offering advice.
He is fortunate enough when he encounters a taxi guide called Nodar who helps him navigate the now bombed out Georgia and his search for answers. Saba has to follow the trail his brother has left and of clue-breadcrumbs, grafitti and decipher pages from a play his father wrote.
With encounters like wild animals such as a hippopotamus, tigers, penguins and other wild animals that have excaped from a zoo during a flood , this adds to a sureal graphic but interest element to this story.
Overall, this story is about loss, fear, war, injustice, greed, family survivor guilt and love. I enjoyed the story and the descriptive detail of the reality of those times.
