I really loved this book. I enjoyed lifting the flaps to see what animal is hiding on every page — it's such a fun surprise! A child writes to the zoo asking for a pet. The zoo sends different animals one by one – an elephant too big, a giraffe too tall, a lion too fierce – and each one gets sent back. At last, they sent the perfect pet — a lovely puppy! It made me feel happy and excited guessing what would come next. I'd recommend this to any young child who loves animals and interactive books. There is nothing scary or worrying at all — completely safe and fun for everyone!
Luca loves the different animals and enjoys a lift flap book
It's my favourite book. I love the animals.
It was a very good book
I enjoyed Dear Zoo because it is simple but fun. I liked the different animals and the surprise of finding out which one is sent next. The lift-the-flap parts also make it more interactive.
It made me think about which animal I would choose as a pet. I would recommend it to young children, especially ages 2–5, because it is easy to follow and encourages children to join in.
There aren’t any major content warnings. Some of the animals might seem a little scary to younger children, but they are shown in a fun way.
Good story
I love the ending because the kid gets something special
I like this book because it shows many animals from the zoo, it uses lots of adjectives and at the end they gave them a dog which is great for a pet.
Love this book! I read it to my little brother who also loves it.
