This is not my usual kind of book at all but it was recommended to me so I thought I'd give it go. It's a crime thriller so is completely plot driven and, as in most crime thrillers, it is based on absolutely dreadful things being done to women and children by men. Major trigger warning! It has lots of twists and surprises but I found it too incredibly distressing and disturbing to be able to call it enjoyable or even to appreciate it really and only finished reading it as the person who recommended it said I should keep going as it was really good.

I couldn't put this book down. It was utterly gripping. Super creepy.
