Amy Wu and the Warm Welcome

This is a lovely picture book that sees Lin, a new boy, starting in Amy's class. Amy tries her best to play with him and make him feel welcome but Lin seems very quiet and bashful.
At home time though, Lin isn't quiet or bashful at all! When he runs to greet his little sister and Amy realises that Lin speaks a different language from her.
This sets Amy thinking - what can she do to show Lin she wants to be his friend?
We will all need to welcome someone new at some time. And sometimes we will be the new person feeling quiet and bashful. Amy Wu shows us that kindness and thoughtfulness is always a brilliant start when making new friends.
