My favourite characters are Jumoke (Jummy), Caro, Ngozi, Bukky and Francessa. I recommend this book.
It was nice
It is a brilliant story about friendship and perseverance. My favourite character is Jummy because she is very sporty and caring.
A great book for 9 - 11
I loved the boarding school setting, the language, and the focus on food! I felt the story wandered, though, which meant my attention did too.
I never thought about the fact that Nigeria had boarding schools but now I know. It felt a bit like a Nigerian version of Mallory towers with kind girls and means girl and pupils having to overcome difficulties . The text is not complex but there are lots of Nigerian words to contend with so I would say it is aimed at yr4+
I loved it!
It made me want to keep reading for ever!
