‘Fresh, funny and ultra cool’ – Jacqueline Wilson
Hello! My name is Edie Eckhart and I’m eleven years old. I’m a little bit different. I have a disability called cerebral palsy, so I talk slowly and fall over a lot. It’s never really bothered me because I’ve never known anything else.
Edie Eckhart is Excited with a capital E to start secondary school with her best friend Oscar – the fish to her chips, the bananas to her custard. But when she and Oscar are put into different tutor groups on their first day, Edie is devastated. Who will play secret hangman with her in class? Who will she eat sausage rolls with?
But while she’s plotting her reunion with Oscar, she accidentally gets cast as the lead in the school play. As Edie discovers a passion for performance, she also finds new friendships, talents, and dreams. After all, it’s easy to shine on and off the stage when you’re Amazing with a capital A.
‘This book is as funny and warm as a sausage roll. I loved it!’ Jenny McLachlan, author of Land of Roar
‘Enjoyable and uplifting. Everyone needs an Edie Eckhart in their lives.’ Jen Carney, author of The Accidental Diary of B.U.G

So fun and wobbly
I liked the book a lot because it’s about a girl and a boy who are best friends. They are put into different classes at school and they make lots of new friends.
a good book features a disabled girl i loved it
I loved this book, the characters were likeable and it was funny! It was interesting to read from the point of view of someone with a disability and a good lesson in being kind to others. I like how it was written. I now want to read the second book in the series. I recommend this book.
This is the first book of the series and is a fictional story about a girl called Edie Eckhart and her cerebral palsy and basically just about what happens to her in her day to day life, how she deals with it and everything. It is written as her diary.
Jacqueline Wilson described it as fresh, funny and ultra cool. Really Jacqueline, I could not put it better myself.
I would recommend this for any reader who loves books (who does not love books).
I definately reccomed this book - all about the pro's and con's of growing up, and different relationships you can make and keep along the way
I loved this because even though Edie has cerable palsie she dose not let it stop her from living a normal teenage life with dates and friendship problems
I absolutely loved it it shows us the struggles of being a disabled person
I liked this book because it is about someone who has a disability who is a bit different from everybody else. I recommend this book to people who like strong friendships, acting or secondary school.
It is good because its inspiring for people who have disabilities and it is also really funny
Edie Eckhart is the main character and has a disability. She goes through all of her worries about starting a new school but she overcame her concerns
It was really interesting I loved the main character edie she has cerbal palsy and still loves to everyting like other people
The book was ok. I didn't like anyone in particular. I would recommend it to someone that likes writing in their diary.
I found this rather weird in a lot of concepts ( Mainly the whole Boyfriend/Girlfriend thing) But overall was disappointed. It was quite heavy reading for me.

funny
Great fun and a wonderful normalisation of disability.
This book was about a girl named Edie Eckhart, she was my favourite character in the book.
I found Edie's food choices to be very unusual, like cheesy chips and gravy or pickles, olives and cheese.
I would recommend this book because it was funny.
I would recommend other people read it because it’s different to other books. (You have to read it yourself to find out why!)
