As Merrick explains, these are the enemy hiding in plain sight like a submerged crocodile waiting to kill. This is a rather old-fashioned story, in the sense that it’s just small clues and snippets of intelligence that move things forward, but the setting is bang up to date. I thought it was beautifully paced and surprisingly gripping, with quite a lot of gentle humour. Definitely worth searching out.
