A brilliant book full of humour as well as sentimentality. I really enjoyed this book.
I took this on holiday lent by a friend as their bookclub had enjoyed. I read it quickly as it’s an easy read, but found it very average. The friendships didn’t feel particularly “real”. I did like the short chapters and each one offering their perspective. My favourite character was George and his relationship with Judith as it somehow felt the most genuine whereas all the others didn’t really come to life for me.
I was drawn to this by Wales and the Gavin and Stacey connection. Ruth Jones writes a story that focuses on female relationships and I enjoyed it.
