Barbara is in a very bad mood. She won’t admit it, but she is.
She has a problem with a sock, and at lunchtime there’s a strange pea… And even though she’s at the park with her friends, it all just gets a bit much. Suddenly Barbara’s WOBBLER is out of control!
But what if Barbara and her Wobbler can work together, so she can be cheerful again?
Winner of the UKLA Award and shortlisted for the Oscar’s Book Prize and the FCBG Children’s Book Award, Barbara Throws A Wobbler is a brilliantly funny and sensitive way to understand and deal with tantrums.
""These are the most brilliant, beautiful and silly picture-books out there at the moment. Little doorways of joy."" Caitlin Moran""This book is AMAZING. It will be a modern classic!"" – Richard Osman

This book is so funny
I liked that I feel like this sometimes
I love making all of the faces that Barbara does.
Barbara was in a bad mood and she threw a wobbler. Then the wobbler was actually there. It would do exactly what she did. She told the wobbler to stop copying her then it said that Barbara made him. So she calmed down and became happy. I will recommend this book.
Edda likes being able to say "stinky bumhead" without getting in trouble.
The wobbler is friendly, I like the wobbler and Barbara’s friends are a little cute
It was funny
So good
When she was said didn't like it
I loved it!
Some tricky words but a fun story to challenge my reading
What a cracking read! I shared this with my class who thought it was hilarious. Many of them were very keen to share the times they had 'thrown a wobbler.'
This story was super funny because Barbara called the Wobbler a 'Stinky bumhead' and the Wobbler said it back to her.
It was funny
I really like this book. It's funny when Barbara tells the Wobbler that it's a stinky bum head!
My mum explained to me what a wobbler was and then it made sense and was so funny I really liked it
Really good. I like it when the wobbler got bigger and you could learn about mood monsters
I thought it was really good. I learnt that if you have a wobbler or a worry, you can settle down, have a think about everything and squish the wobble so your mind is clear again.
Helped me understand bad moods
I thought it was really funny
I would recommend this book I liked it
Really enjoyed the wobbler saying hello to the cat.
Good story to explain different feeling
Very funny, informative and great for building empathy.
I loved this book. I asked my nanny to read it to me about 20 times. I could relate to Barbara and her wobblers and I thought it was funny.
I LOVE this book. It is the story of Barbara the kitten who has bad day and a wobbler appears above her head.
Eventually she works out that she can control the wobbler. She squashes it down and pops it.
Now when I get upset about something my mummy tells me to pop my wobbler and it works!
This made me laugh when Barbara got stuck in the Wobbler.
Do not be frustrated all the time
Think this book is more of a three and a half for me. Considered it for the Library at school but I think some of the vocabulary would be too difficult for an International setting.
It’s funny, Barbara calls the wobbler a stinky bum head
Great read, easy to identify with the character
