So many plot twists
This is the second book of this series and as with the first, I couldn't put it down. Pip's character continues to develop her investigative skills in her normal slightly obsessive way whilst navigating her way through school and trying to maintain normal teenage relationships. She is drawn into this investigation by her need to help and protect the people who are important to her and in doing so , once again places herself in perilous situations. Luckily she has the support of her friends if not the local police.
It is a really enjoyable read. I gave it 4 starts as I found the plot a little rushed and not as tight as the first book. Ravi is a great character in this book.
I loved this book. It was a thrilling mystery that had me on the edge on my seat. The main character, Pippa (Pip) solved the case of the disappearance of Andie Bell and the murder of Sal Singh last year. With the help of Ravi Singh she released a podcast about the murder case. When Pip is sure that her detective days are over someone close to her goes missing and she will have to break that promise.
Holly Jackson writes in a way that compelled me to keep on reading. She creates sympathy for Jamie Reynolds (the missing person) while keeping the reader on edge as Pip finds out dark secrets and truths not just about Jamie Reynolds but about herself as well.
I liked this book because this is a mystery book and I love how mature it is for older readers. My favourite character is Pippa Fitz-Anobi because I love her determination. I would recommend this book to any budding detectives so they can discover the dangers of the job.
It was so nice!
I really enjoyed it.
And I like it because it was a book about crime and detective.
This sequel was recommended to me by a Y7 student and I really enjoyed it. Just as well-written as 'A Good Girl's Guide to Murder', the book develops Pip's character and looks deeper into how her life and relationships are affected by her investigations. There is a page-turning plot and satisfying twists along the way. Now I need to read 'As Good As Dead' to complete the trilogy!
The sequel to the best book for teens interested in murder mysteries. Pip is asked to investigate her friend’s brother going missing. And this time, with her podcast up and running, everyone is listening…
A thrilling novel that keeps you guessing with every page.
This book was a really nice mystery full of uncovered secrets and long lost people and identities. It was a hard book to put down and for fans of 'A good girl's guide to murder' I highly recommend this book
Fantastic book! Loved how all three books were tied together perfectly to create a thrilling series. A brilliant arrangement of fascinating twists and turns.
Great book, just as good as the first one!
What a page-turner! I just loved this novel, which is a perfect balance between Mystery, Thriller and Romance.
Once again, a great book by Holly Jackson, a thrill ride and more. There were more graphic descriptions in this one which were interesting. I would say for about ages 13/14 years up.
After solving the Andie Bell case last year and being in grave danger Pip has told everyone she won't do detective work anymore. However, that changes when her best friend's brother goes missing. Jamie Reynolds , 24 , mysteriously disappears after Andie/Sal's memorial. Since the police are taking no action Pip realises she has to dig deeper even though there will be many dangers and it could mean that anone close to hear can get dangerously hurt or even worse, killed...
Join Pip in the sequel to A Good Girls Guide to Murder where many secrets are unveiled!
Since I read the first book I felt especially interested to read this novel. I think Mystery books are really interesting to read and I would tell anyone who hasn't read books like this one to read it. I think my favourite character was Pip because she's really brave to forget the dangers she could be in to help a person close to her and from he I learnt that you should always forget your fears and be confident...
DON'T FOGET TO READ THE FIRST BOOK!
It was a slow burner so took a while to get into but once it got into gear it was really good and I couldn’t put it down.
My fave character is Ravi. I’m not sure how I feel about pip.
Very gripping book from the first page! I couldn't put it down. I love the character of Pippa. She is so clever! Despite all odds she is determined to solve the disappearance of her friend's brother - Jamie. What police cannnot solve or do not want to solve, Pippa will definitely solve. Every detail is important and she does not underestimate the power of social media in getting the crucial information. This book will be enjoyed by those readers who like crime mysteries. I highly recommend this book!
YA murder fiction.
A little predictive in places but a good read.
v good
I thought that this book was really good, I rate it 5/5. It was a true mystery and it was a very good story that really did intrigue me!! I think that Holly Jackson’s other book “a good girls guide to murder” came before this book and this book maybe gave some hints away!! I would definitely recommend!!
Winderful
This is one of my absolute favourite books and i recommend for you to read it. My favourite genre of books is murder mystery and this is one of the best. If you want to read the first one it is called a good girls guide to murder and i would recommend it or 11 and over. Any gender could read it and personally I like this one better than the first one.
This was a great sequel with a separate story line that links to the first book.
An absolutely fantastic YA mystery/thriller. Holly Jackson doesn't pull any punches when dealing realism in her books- the bad guys don't always get what they deserve, and bullying, PTSD, depression and other mental health issues are all very real. Perfect for teens 15+
I loved this book series
Pip Fitz-Amobi yer again a is the central character trying to help a friend, Connor, find out what has happened to his brother, Jamie, who,has disappeared. Pip teams up with Ravi and using her podcast to uncover information about what happened to Jamie on the night he was last seen. As Pip discovers more information more and more secrets are revealed making this book a page-turner as you become more involved in the mystery of Jamie’s disappearance. Highly recommend this book the second in the trilogy.
I absolutely love the mystery in this book. The slow burn relationship between pip and Ravi is really interesting. I would 100% recommend this book!
I liked this book but it gave me nightmares
