A lovely mixture of fantasy and real life themes. A kind of cross between being a sequel to Gulliver's Travels and the story of Omar, a modern-day refugee from Afghanistan. A great way in to talking about refugee experiences and their treatment worldwide without making the politics the central focus of the story. At its heart it is an adventure story with a happy ending.
It was brilliant. The title was interesting so I thought the story would also be interesting and I was correct.

This is a very touching story about a little boy who is an Afghani refugee who wants to reach England but on the way meets very extraordinary tiny people on the way...

it felt very adventurous because there's a adventure to Lilliput then home and its a very good one I gave it 4 stars one minus because it's very long
I liked the people from Lillibet island the best. I liked the stories the lillibet people told of their time on the island.
I really loved this book. The relationship between the son in this book and his father in another book called gullivers travels was very interesting. I loved the little people as they were very caring and catered to the giants needs. I would definitely recommend this book.

I thought this book was very good because it tells you about a war in Afghanistan.
It is a very long read so I would recommend it for more advanced readers. I am 8 so I would recommend for age 8 plus. But it is definitely one of my favourite books. It is a fiction book.
Liked it very much, learnt new words
A magical retelling of the Gulliver story, set in today's world of refugees and asylum seekers. Omar/Owzat leaves Afghanistan heading for relations in Devon but his ship sinks and he finds himself on the island of Lilliput. This is story about friends and enemies, courage and kindness, adventure, hope and coming home. Simply written as always, but its message has much to teach us all.
It's a really good book.Its so good because it's so fascinating to learn about the liliputians.It was a fiction book and my favourite character is Zaya because she's really funny and really kind.I would recommend it to 7 year old and over because there was a war and people sadly died so I think 7s good because little kids might get a bit scared plus it's a really long book.

This was a really good book by Michael Morpugo because it was inspired by Gulliver's Travels which was written almost 200 years ago! Even though it was take from an old story, it seemed very enjoyable and modern. I'd recommend it for 8 - 11 year olds who want to set themselves a challenge!
Outstanding book. My favourite character is Boy Giant. I would recommend this to anyone who thinks they are small!
There was a boy at school but everyone called him small but a war happend and they moved to England but the boat crashed. He ended up on a island but everyone was small and he was giant .

I think it was about world war two since the boy evacuated home and gone to England and i liked the giant boat idea the was a giant a good character gone in harsh times.
