It is an eye-opening story that details the female experience in South Korea and the epidemic of misogyny they encounter. By revealing the daily struggles and hardships women have to encounter and go through and the fact that gender stereotypes in this context for women have become a 'norm' in society. And the stigma associated with women if they behave in a manner that is not considered socially acceptable. It chronicles how a series of micro-aggressions just constantly throughout someone's life can eventually wear them down. As a reader, I would describe the main character Kim Ji young as an 'every woman' who represents a typical female experience for women worldwide. This book is wonderful and has many morals and messages one can learn.
