Gothic, intoxicating, feminist and romantic – this is the breathtakingly imagined untold story of the brides of Dracula, by bestselling author Kiran Millwood Hargrave in her much-anticipated YA debut.

Dark and sad story of twin sisters, Kizzy and Lil. They just turned 17 when the world they knew ceased to exist and the girls lost everything including their freedom. The story shows their journey from being a part of a free Traveller community to becoming Dracula's "dark sisters".
Very good book. I really enjoy Kiran's writing however the ending was very different to what I expected and felt slightly rushed. A lot of people went into it expecting queer vampires (the last 10% ish of the book). I read it expecting it to be a story about slavery with gothic, fantasy and romance undertones (the other 90% rocked thistle last 10% was unexpected to me.) Overall very good book with an unexpected and slightly rushed ending. 4.5/5 stars
I ventured into the Deathless Girls as I had read 'The Mercies' by Kiran Millwood Hargrave, and wanted to read another book written by her. I was not disappointed. This book was harrowing in parts, but was a strong story on family and relationships. Truly 'gothic', the writing embraces the themes of the genre, with the strength of a female protagonist. Gripping and enjoyable.
