WINNER of the Greenhouse Funny Prize; SHORTLISTED for the Sainsbury’s Book Award and numerous regional awards, this hilarious series is adored by its readers!
Our favourite pompous pigeon is BACK! And about to trade places with a pigeon prince, descended from Indian royalty.
Dave Pigeon and his best friend Skipper are taking in the sights of London. Whilst pecking around the gates of the Royal Palace, looking for high-brow snacks to feast on, they meet Prince Raju Pigeon, one of the Queen’s personal birds from the Royal Lofts.
Raju is tired of royal life and longs to see life beyond the palace gates. Dave suggests they swap places for a short while! Raju will get to see how normal pigeon lives and Dave will be pampered in the Royal Lofts.
Of course, this all goes to Dave’s head and as he laps up the royal treatment becoming more unbearable than ever. But life in high society is not all it’s cracked up to be . . .
A very feathery prince and the pauper story, rich in diversity, packed full of gorgeous illustrations and giggle-until-you-wee jokes, perfect for emerging readers.

I really liked this book because it was adventurous and about not everything seems like it is. This book taught me to help out my friends whenever they are in need. The main characters are Kapi, Raju, Dave and Skipper. All of these characters are great and have a great role in this book. I would recommend this book to all age groups for whoever that wants to read this book. There are 4 books of the series and they all are probably as great as this marvellous book.
i really enjoyed this book because i have read the series with dave and his co pigeon skipper and this book has good twists and a funny plot to it would 110% recommend this book to ages 6-15 an awesome book would recommend to my friends :)
I really liked it as it was quite different from the previous Dave Pigeon books. My favourite character was Skipper and my least favourite was, actually I have two so were, Princess Niyanta and Palomi, especially Palomi. The ending is alright I don't like Prince Raju's decision about his sister and her role. Just saying I also really wanted Skipper to accept the sticky popcorn from Mickey Lightning (Dave's dad). Mickey Lightning is also one of my favourite characters.
I liked this book. this book is about two pigeons called dave and skipper going to a palace. this book is a chapter book. this is book 4 in the series. I recommend this book 7-9.
It wasn't really bad I kind of liked it
I thought it was funny.
I thought the book was about a pigeon called Dave and he went to a palace to swap places with the prince and it was harder than he thought.
I liked Dave the best.
I would recommend this book to people who like books that have characters who are not sensible and are silly.
Another incredible Dave Pigeon story and the new characters are gain brilliantly thought up. Prince Raju is great and esp the whole idea of Prince Raju and Dave swapping places is brilliantly funny.
I also loved the raven henchmen.
Great book - can’t wait to read more in this series
Good and a bit tense! It was also very funny.
Funny . Loved the view as a pigeon . My fav character was skipper because he took things serious .
Fun read, when the pigeons swapped places
It's great!
When I saw 2 Daves I went crazy.
Dave Pigeon is very funny and has been invited to a royal occasion. The illustrations are amazing.
I would recommend this book.
I liked this book. I would recommend it.
Dave Pigeon went to the dungeon and the King Pigeon swapped, so Dave became the king and the king became Dave.
epic
I liked the Raju who was a prince
it was fiction
yes I would recommend it
The latest Dave Pigeon book was the best out of all the books and the funniest.
This was fiction.
I liked Dave because he is really funny.
It was about Dave going to the Palace and he saw someone who looked like him. The pigeon was the Royal Pigeon. So they swapped places and Dave was not that good at being the Royal Pigeon. So lots of funny things happened.
I liked when Dave ate the other Prince's breakfast.
Yes I would recommend it to someone else.
I really liked Dave the Pigeon he is so funny. Dave swaps with the royal pigeon for a day. The royal pigeon's sister wants to be the royal pigeon because her brother is. But she doesn't know Dave isn't her brother. She tries to ruin his day and the pigeon fleas were really funny. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that likes funny books and its an easy read.
It was very funny. I would recommend to someone else
It was really good! The front cover illustration is so funny. Skipper does not look happy to put the royal turban on Dave and Dave as usual is looking very proud of himself.
The story is very exciting and I was keen to read each new chapter because of the cliffhangers. Skipper is much like me, he helps in all sticky situations!
It was a very funny book, cos Dave got arrested for stealing the royal pigeon's face!
