Little Gems – We Are Not Frogs!

The book was okay . There were some frogs and some toads. The toads were not
good at jumping and the frogs were good at jumping.
I will recommend this book.

It’s a funny story but it’s also weird. The frogs were funny and jumpy. The toads had warts.

Good story, made me laugh

An adventure story about the backyard antics of frogs, toads, a dog and two children. My favourite character is Mutt the dog because came in search of some good jumper.

I think this books was very funny. It was easy to read and the pictures were great.

This book is fun and is really great. I liked the chief toad because he’s so loud.

I would recommend this book, it was exciting to read and I loved the King toad character.

Its interesting that people don't see the small insects that live in the grass even though they are distracted by reading or going anywhere, they should be careful not to step on them. Some people don't know the difference between a toad and a frog.

This book was very funny. It is about frogs and toads and toads can’t jump as far as frogs. The children and the dog Matt go and search for frogs.

It was silly and made me laugh

The book is about a girl called Alice and a boy called jago who called the toads frogs. The chief toad would scream saying we are not frogs because they jump high. When Alice and Jacob found the toads they ran away and then they found them again. My favourite character is the chief toads because he was funny when saying we are not frogs. I would recommend this book to younger readers as there are less difficult words. I rate this book 5/5.

I loved the toads.

I’ve been trying to read some of the Little Gems before purchasing them for the Library at school. Unfortunately, they seem quite hit and miss in terms of the quality of the writing. Some, like ‘The First Third Wish’ by Ian Beck, are an absolute delight. Others, like Nellie Choc-ice’ by Jeremy Strong seem to require a lot of effort to enable children to access them. I think many of them feel only partly formed; as though the authors took less time with them. This one was okay but that’s all I can say.. It’s a shame because both reluctant readers/ EAL children and those with reading difficulties love the layout and balance of text to pictures…🙁

I like it when they put toads in the tank instead of frogs and put them in the house. It was funny!

So funny and toads don’t jump

I liked the dog in this book, it was about two children trying to catch frogs and toads.
It was a good book.

I liked the way that the Toads stood up for themselves.

This book is fiction.My favourite chareter is the chief Toad because he spots are pretty.Iwould recomend this book because it is very funny and exciting.

I thought it was a very surprising book at the end of the story because the two kids thought that their dog had eaten their frogs but when their grandma told the kids to look out the window their frogs were there!
I also thought it was funny. I liked the chief toad the best. I would recommend this book to someone else.

This was a great book because I learned something from it - that frogs jump, toads don’t and are bumpy on their backs.

It was a good story, but a quick one!

I liked when they all ate chocolate cake at the end and when Mutt knocked the carton and the frogs were free .

This book from little gem collection is about two children who mistake some toads that don't jump to thinking they are frogs.The collection of little gems are easy to read so I would recommend this book to anyone between ages 6-8.

It's was really informative as it taught me lots about toads.
