It’s 1946. The war is over and Europe lies in ruins. Fourteen year old Felix dreams of finding happiness elsewhere. When he’s offered the chance to go to Australia, he seizes the opportunity. So does someone very dear to him, even though she wasn’t actually invited. Felix and Anya have high hopes for a new life in Australia, but before they can accept the love and friendship of their new land they must confront the murderous urge for revenge that still hangs over them.
Felix knows he hasn’t faced anything like this before. He may not survive, but he’s hoping he will. Maybe.

This powerfully moving addition to Morris Gleitzman’s bestselling series takes place in 1945, following directly on from the story told in Soon. This intensely affecting story will move readers of all ages. It will be welcomed by the many Holocaust educators who use Once and the sequels to teach upper primary and lower secondary children and embraced by any reader who loves passionate, moving and brilliant stories.

In this book, Felix travels to Australia to start a new life without guns. He meets Anya and takes her baby out when Felix is just 14! A very heart-warming book. Definitely recommend it

The sixth book in the series following the aftermath of World War 2 for Felix and Anya as they travel to Australia to make a new life. Not as emotional as earlier books but still moments of tension.

I liked this book as it gave me the history of World War Two. It was factual but all put in a fiction book and I think the author needed a lot of effort to do that. My favourite person was Ruby the baby who doesn’t come up much in the book because she was born near the end of the story. It interested me in World War Two and how much things happened in the past. I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to discover Morris Gleitzman and the Felix Salinger series. Third in the series, Maybe charts Felix’s journey to Australia and his realisation that bad things don’t just happen in war. An inspiring tale of friendship and hope.

After Felix discovered that Anya was on the plane when looking for the cooked beef rations, the crew started to worry as she was pregnant. But in the middle of the night, a thunderstorm occurs and lightning strikes their plane down. Felix and Anya have the choice to jump, or stay. So they jump and they land in a grassy plain where they find a man who feeds and cleans them before taking them into town where they are taken by the police to separate orphanages. Felix's having a horrible owner and Anya's having kind nuns who called her baby a burden and chained her to her bed. Soon they escaped with the help of some friends.

The book was finished and it was my favourite one yet.

5 star (like usual)

This is the most recent in a series which I have enjoyed. I like how it is very adventurous. Felix has had a very hard life and the books tell us all about his challenges without leaving out the really hard and sad bits. My favourite character in this book is Felix. He is being chased by a vicious killer.

I liked this book because it is a very adventurous and daring. It also made me feel sorry for Felix when the plane crashes and Felix & Anya are the only survivors.Fortunately, Jack let's them in his house and helps them but when they go to shopping, the shop owner calls the police thinking they are Japs and capture them. They put Felix & Anya in a cell together.Soon Mr Chase and Mr Peter rescue them but Anya get's angry and starts arguing so they send them to two different orphanages, where Felix meets Tyrone Gosling. They then save the day.
